I am enjoying my piano lessons a great deal. James is helping me establish my own plan, learning at my own rate. He is always ready for me when I get to his house and has a beautiful grand piano that I enjoyed playing.

I started playing piano when I was over 50 years old. I have been taking piano lessons from Shulamit for the last year and a half. She is an excellent pianist and has a great ear- she hears all my mistakes. She has been helping me fix my bad piano habits. My playing is much better thanks to her. It would be difficult to find someone as accomplished as she.

My 12 & 15 year old sons took beginner guitar lessons with Rachel. I was impressed with what they learned and the price could not have been better. They were motivated and looked forward to their lessons. I liked how she set up the schedule in the beginning of the summer and provided options for any of our normal days that wouldn't work. I wish I had also signed another of my kids up for piano. I chose Rachel because the price was right and I wanted to gauge their interest levels. We will return to Rachel because the price is good AND she's a good music instructor who kept the kids motivated.

Dr. Kemper provided a relaxing atmosphere at the my An Evening with the Author event by playing a mix of jazz and classical tunes at the start, and a plethora of Holiday/Christmas music at the end. He also found piano music for songs mentioned in the chapter I read, which was a delightful surprise.

Jessica has been teaching my son for the past month. She has a good rapport with him, explains what to do and how to do it simply and well. She provides provides and overview to verify he's mastered something before advancing to the next item. In addition she's encouraged him to succeed and challenge himself. He's been enjoying piano lessons and learning skills to improve both his knowledge and his skill.

About

I have taught piano for over 25 years, and I enjoy seeing a student go from knowing nothing about playing the piano to being as advanced as they want to be. I believe in using encouragement as a motivator along with much patience. As long as a student is really trying to do his best, mistakes do not bother me. I just help the students work through their mistakes, and try to help them learn through them. I teach students from age 5 and up. I do not take students younger than 5; at this age, students must have someone at home who can sit with them, and help them with their practicing. All beginning students must be able to write and say the alphabet and their numbers 1-10. I charge $18 per 1/2-hour lesson given weekly. The lessons are paid for by the month at the first lesson of the month.
