Alex has been my instructor for nearly four years. There isnt a style of music or song that he cant play. More importantly, there isnt a style of music or song that he cant teach. He is flexible, adaptive, patient, and an overall great teacher. I highly recommend Alex for beginner to advanced players and everyone in between!
My two sons both studied with Shulamit over the course of five years. As a teacher, Shulamit was patient, yet motivating. She has a lively personality that both of my sons responded to. She remained true to her training and philosophy of teaching, yet was flexible when my son's interest was veering away from classical music. Shulamit knew that she was not going to become a different teacher, but she incorporated some popular music into his lessons to try to meet him where he was. As the mother of the student, I have always enjoyed my contact with Shulamit and have felt privileged to be audience to her magnificent playing.
Dottie was a true professional. He connected with me several times before the event to plan. The night of the event, he showed up with professional lighting and equipment, playing the music that we had discussed. The party-goers were dancing and having fun all night. Dottie made it all happen and the group of people at the party made many comments about how much they enjoyed the music. I would hire Dottie again without hesitation.
Mike is a terrific guitar instructor. He's organized, providing easy-to-follow lesson plans and he tailors the instruction to your interests and pace. Another bonus: he's a working musician and he recently hosted an open blues jam session where his students played with his band Crooked Dice. How cool is that? We (students) got a chance play with other musicians. Isn't that what music is all about?
Mark helped our grandson with pre-algebra and was very nurturing and patient while teaching concepts. Nick really enjoyed his sessions with Mark and gained so much confidence. I believe the skills talked about carried thru in his other subjects as well. Mark is excellent!!
I frequently take my grandchildren to their music lessons with Dr Barbara Lamb. Dr Lamb has a vast knowledge of music and of different instruments. My grandson has improved greatly under Dr Lamb’s tutelage, both as a school teacher and leader of The Fabulous Fiddlers through fourth grade and as a private teacher. He is now able to read music in both treble and bass clefs and the tone when he plays has improved greatly. She includes vocabulary slowly, as in the musical signs and terms for tempo, etc. She gently guides him into making improvements in his stroking and incorporates interesting bits of information about the music he is playing. When it is obvious he hasn’t practiced enough she doesn’t chide but instead tells him how and why the music would sound better if he were able to spend more time playing. He enjoys the fact that in addition to the standard teaching books she will coach him on music he brings in, Star Wars themes in particular. When he brought in his recorder and played a piece for her she complimented his playing and also gave hints on fingering and breath technique. She is very patient and when my grandson starts rambling about other things she listens and gently guides him back to the topic. She instilled a love of music in both children and I enjoy hearing them sing when they are in the shower. My grandson says he would give Dr Lamb a 5-star rating, adding that she is nice, patient and she knows a lot. He was very disappointed when she left his school and the Fabulous Fiddlers program was dropped. It had taught him discipline and had prompted him to work harder on improving his cello skills. He is looking forward to continuing cello as he moves on to middle school. My granddaughter has had to drop lessons temporarily due to school responsibilities but she also enjoyed her lessons and progressed well. She hopes to be able to continue guitar lessons in the future.
I tried playing several times on my own but since taking lessons with Josh I actually want to play and practice, he has an innate ability to push you yet make it relaxing. He tailors the lesson to you, takes the time to find your interests/goals. And a great little bonus in teaching you a lot of nuances of playing guitar and music in general. Highly recommended.
Dr. Kemper provided a relaxing atmosphere at the my An Evening with the Author event by playing a mix of jazz and classical tunes at the start, and a plethora of Holiday/Christmas music at the end. He also found piano music for songs mentioned in the chapter I read, which was a delightful surprise.
Great music! I couldn't have chosen a better quartet. Has quality music prepared but can make any song requested beautifully!
Mr. Correa played at our wedding on 12/28/2012. The addition of a harp to the ceremony made for a very romantic event. I also purchased music CD's as gifts for our guests. Reuben also played a children's medical benefit at my request. Some of the medical staff remembered him from the hospital, as he played there a few years back, and commented how much they enjoyed hearing his soothing harp music during children's surgeries. Reuben's passion for playing the harp and his artistic ability are amazing and they shine through in his music. I highly recommend him for any event.
The band was very professional and the music was a great fit for us. Thanks guys for making the evening fun!
Played a variety of musical styles--classical, show tunes, popular tunes from the past, ethnic tunes. Excellent selection of music for wedding ceremonies, preludes and postludes. Good background music for dinners. Pleasant sound.
Juan is a fantastic music teacher! He takes the time needed to help a person at any skill level to grow and improve. Lessons are always fun and the time just flies by. When he demonstrates a particular song it is evident he is a skilled musician as well. I highly recommend him.
She is very nice and worked really well with my 12 year old daughter. Hired her for more lessons.
I am 50+ guy who is an advanced beginner or early intermediate and have had many "beginner" guitar instructors. I was very pleasantly impressed with Loba and very highly recommend him. He teaches many styles of music but perhaps most importantly he shares with you how to play, to feel the music and express the feeling the music has for you - so you are not only learning a new piece but you are owning it personally through Loba's encouragement and guidance. You take guitar lessons with Loba not from him - it is a shared experience. As person, he is friendly, polite, patient and sensitive; and will share his many experiences with music and people - an education alone. This is a very positive referral, and should be, Loba has earned it and will continue to, hopefully for you!
Chris- is a DJ that plays for the crowd! He is enthusiastic, entertaining, and he gets the people involved! He is a family man that enjoys a music and he know how to entertain! I highlybrecommend him for weddings- he will provide you with a lifetime of memories for you and your guests!
In June 2014, Greg Membrez played piano at my moms funeral. Greg took the time to review an extensive list of my moms favorite songs to choose which he felt would be good piano solos. His three choices were excellent and played with such grace and passion. Greg received rave reviews from my family and friends who attended the service. I was fortunate to hear Greg play at a wedding the year before. Both venues were quite different, of course one being upbeat and outdoors and one a more solemn occasion held at a funeral home. Greg is a talented artist and his style fit both circumstances to a T. He will forever be on the top of my list to contact when in need for a pianist. Shelly McCune / Lake Elmo MN
