- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I am a busy working wife and mother of two grown sons. I started organizing others about 25 years ago. I saw ways people could become more efficient, productive and even peaceful by becoming organized. I am wired to easily solve organization challenges. As a result of organizing/simplifying we often ended up with extra belongings that were no longer needed. That's where eBay started... and all these years later I now have positive eBay feedback from over 1,500 people! From that humble beginning on eBay, through liquidating estates for my family, I now am a certified Professional Estate Liquidator and sell nearly half a million dollars in personal property each year.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Most of my clients have a house full of items they need sold, donated, etc. and are finding the process overwhelming. Sometimes they are downsizing, sometimes they are caring for a deceased loved one's estate, sometimes they just want to simplify their home life. I manage the entire project, from start to finish, and provide tremendous peace of mind and a dramatic reduction of stress.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Make sure you speak with the owner of the company; not just someone taking your call. Meet the owner before you hire them to see if you click, and to be sure they understand your needs. Check out unbiased reviews/referrals and their website. Be sure they have a proven success history. And be SURE they have unbiased means of selling your property; not their own store or other venue they own. You want to be certain your items are placed where they can net top dollar.
