In my work, I seek to capture moments of emotional, relational, and personal truth. When we celebrate the very best parts of being living, out in the open, unapologetically raw humans, we let go anything that might have covered us, leaving us beautifully bare. I'm here to bring forth and capture this shameless vulnerability when for a few fleeting seconds, your fluttering heart flew out of your chest and into the world. Open shutter, naked flutter. Kara and I have had multiple sessions together of absolute delight. I normally hate taking pictures; I don't know how to pose or what face to make. I always feel awkward in front of a camera because it's like my whole being is exposed. But the way Kara captures every single moment is so beautiful and freeing. I honestly had that fear cured by having these experiences with her. She is so honest and careful with clients, while also directing them through emotional energy and kind words that produce exceptional pieces of art. I've always been an artist by way of life, and it's often come out in performance. I've found that being behind the camera, rather than in front of it, really takes a lot of the performance pressure off and allows me to really enter my element and get to work.
