FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I usually go on a per hour basis. For facepainting, I can handle about 10 to 20 people per hour, depending on the level of painting to be done. Cheek art takes less time than full face, of course.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I will reply to questions via text, phone call, and email quickly. I always get a phone number and address of the party location immediately. I verify whether they need a theme and build a new board of specific paintings for that theme if I don't already have one. I call and confirm about 24 hours before the party starts, and follow up any final questions or changes then. I will call or text when I leave my location and let them know I am on my way. Afterwards, I will always find the host and confirm the time fulfillment. I won't just pack up and leave.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a 4 year degree in Elementary Education. I know sign language, and am able to "speak" it at an intermediate level, and "read" it at a amateur level. It basically takes me longer to understand signs from the other person, but I catch on quickly. I've facepainted at a small town's weekly band concert (polka and waltz numbers with all the instruments and musicians from the local area) and did it since 2002. I've painted faces for birthday parties, store openings, art student celebrations, and more. I've decorated cakes since I was 14 years old (1994). My mother taught me, and I later worked in a bakery as a cake decorator. Doing free hand cake decoration drawing has transferred into my facepainting as well.
