Amanda explained the riding techniques in a way that was fun and interesting. My daughter enjoyed working with Amanda and cannot wait to go back.
I worked for KJ Equestrian for a little under a year and learned a lot of valuable information about equine handling, training and various veterinarian procedures. Kelsey is EXTREMELY knowledgeable in many disciplines and is a genuine equine enthusiast! She has a positive hard working attitude while creating a fun atmosphere for those of all ages! I would recommend anyone of all ranges of experience to board at KJ equestrian or take lessons from her!
My daughter and I are boarding her horse at BR Guest Stables. It has been such an outstanding experience. Not only is it a great place to board but Taylor has been giving my daughter riding lessons. We have a very sensitive type horse and Taylor new exactly how to teach my daughter to handle her. She is fun, down to earth, patient and very knowledgeable. She has gone above and beyond with the help she has provided us with. In a short time I have seen wonderful improvements in my daughters ability to ride her new horse. Thank you Taylor and everyone at BR Guest Stables
All horses and riders, no matter what breed or what your riding discipline, can benefit from the techniques learned in riding dressage. Karen Lee at Hay River Equestrian is knowledgeable and capable in teaching dressage and in training dressage horses. She is a Grand Prix gold medalist, and she is truly a "horse whisperer." My little show horse (he is 14.2!) was rescued from a herd of 27 mares and stallions that had been left to survive on their own. He was nearly starved to death, and as an adult horse, had never even so much as had a halter on him. Today, you would never know that's how he started out. If Karen could do that for a horse who started out that way, think what she could do for you and your horse! She will have you in the show ring in no time. And if you don't want to show your horse -- the improvement in the quality of your riding and the improvement in the relationship with your horse will be well worth your time and effort.
The main thing I LOVE about Idylwood is that the focus is on the horse. The training I'm receiving is definitely contributing to an improvement in my skills, but first and foremost I am asked to be a horsewoman, not just a horse rider. From the first moment I am with the horse I'll be riding, Jaime helps me be a better partner to the horse by coaching me to think about the animal: its state of mind, its comfort level, its habits, its particular personality. I am looking forward to a long, productive, and satisfying future at Idylwood - and I sincerely hope that whatever horse I'm riding will always feel the same about me!

We look to breed and sell high quality horses, looking at every aspect from conformation, disposition, athletic ability, and build. We also like to make sure our boarders and their horses have everything that they need and both are happy with us! When it comes to training horses we love to work one on one with horse and rider to put both of them on the same page so there are no mixed signals when it comes for the horse to leave the farm and to return home!
Having grown up on a nature-based horse farm and riding school in rural NY, I have an instinctive and primal love of horses. My mother started our USPC, the Garrison Pony Club, and by the age of 12, I was helping her teach riding lessons and summer camps. I earned my B rating at the age of 14 and decided to slow down when my horse was diagnosed with navicular. I'm very empathetic to the horse's experience and continue to bring a sensitive eye and heart into the arena. As an adult, I studied movement arts and therapies, namely dance, martial arts, yoga, authentic movement, and the Alexander technique. All of which inform my focus as a rider, trainer, and instructor. I provide group, semi-private, or private lessons in equitation, Dressage or jumping. I enjoy helping people understand and be sensitive to their horse's body language and develop a collaborative working relationship with their partner. Must provide own horse.

I love to give riding lessons and help riders build confidence in themselves and their beloved horse partners! I also enjoy starting horses of all kinds to ride. My absolute favorite, of course, is ground training foals from birth up. I am flexible with experience in Western pleasure, English pleasure and saddleseat.
