FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My hourly rate for design based projects is $100 an hour, and for photography, $200 an hour. Due to my education, experience and efficiency I am considered in the industry as a Senior Designer. I also qualify as Art Director or Creative Director. If you need signage, design time is included in the cost of the sign, rather than additional. I have vendors who fabricate signs for me, then of course there is the added cost of installation, permits, taxes, delivery, etc.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
1) First we talk over the clients needs and I listen closely 2) When the client commits to working with me I collect a deposit 3) Next, I conduct research and conceptualize for the new design 4) Then I sit down to the computer to comp up some ideas 5) I get together with the client to discuss the designs and we collaborate on what works and what could work better 6) I'll go back to the computer to refine the design 7) Then I'll share with the client again, full collaboration the entire way as to assure what I am doing is what the client needs 8) Often times I'll need to educate a client about design and why something works or not and what adjustments need to be made in order for the design to be successful 9) Once everything has been agreed upon, final edits to the design are made and the final design is delivered via email, dropbox, or CD. 10) Invoices are sent out after a project is completed. Unless however a project extends over a period of months, then invoices are sent at the end of each month.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Masters of Fine Art in Graphic Design and Photography. I stay current with Adobe Creative Suite software. I attend conferences with our industry's organization, AIGA. I maintain relationships with famous designers, design faculty and graduates from several universities. I buy and read design books and magazines like Fast Company, HOW, Print, and anything I can get my hands on. I consult, teach, review programs and portfolios.
