2 waitstaff assisted with a Celebration of Life for my stepfather, consisting of a BBQ buffet, conversation and visitation, photos, and live piano music by one of his grandsons, at a local community center. We expected 40 to 45 family and friends including the hosts, and 50 to 60 attended. Both staff were extremely professional and mature in all ways: demeanor, actions, voices, punctuality, appearance (incl dress & grooming, eg neat, black clothing with no rips, no extreme piercings/hairstyles/tattoos, ie blended into the background without drawing undue attention to themselves). Just right for this occasion that honored my stepfather - respectful, but not stuffy or ultra solemn because he was an informal, down to earth person, and lived over 80 years of a good, adventurous life. They followed instructions, kept things neat and restocked, set items up where we requested, and served certain foods on the buffet to prevent guests from taking excess amounts, minimize messes and reduce sharing of germs. They suggested ideas and looked for ways to be helpful. For example, one of the desserts was delayed in arriving to the venue (ice cream cups in various flavors) until all the guests were through the buffet line; they offered to take the ice cream and a cookie platter around the room and offer them to all the guests, which was a great solution to get some to everyone who wanted them, before the ice cream melted, and also to give a signal that the event was getting close to the end. The only request I would make is for them to speak up with their suggestions even more often! Including arranging the order/placement of each type of food & nonfood item on the buffet & the beverages. We had several family and friends who helped with set up and clean up, making those go very quickly with Abbott’s help professional help. Otherwise we would’ve needed to reserve significantly more time at the venue and more of the staff’s time or more staff members. We did take more time for cleanup than many events would have, because we split up the leftover food and drinks between 5 different households - brought leftover containers and Ziplocs. The waitstaff accomplished exactly what we wanted: took away stress & workload from my mom, stepsisters, and sister, and let us focus on visiting with our guests and thinking of the person of honor. Despite being a bit of a splurge, I highly recommend hiring staff for major events such as weddings, large anniversary / birthday parties, end of life celebrations, anything very emotional or with a large group of people. I would even love to have their help at future holiday meals with large groups!

The bartender we had at our wedding was INCREDIBLE! Not only was he lively and social, he went out of his way to make sure everyone that wanted drinks had them before they even noticed they did! 10/10 reccomend!
