Nov 16, 2019VerifiedCaricatures by Marietta Delene's replyHi Kendra! You did not actually hire me for your event. My apologies for the confusion over the contract but contracts are required to be signed in order to hire me. This is the same process all clients must go through. I wish you the very best of luck for your wedding!

Marietta was absolutely delightful at our small gathering. She very comfortably engaged all of us, even the very curious kids. We had a couple of special requests that she executed perfectly. We couldn't have been happier! Additionally, I was super impressed with Marietta's professionalism and quick responses to my inquires. I look forward to using her again in the future!

FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?I charge $135 for a single hour or $120 per hour for 2 or more hours and can draw about 20 people per hour. I can do quick sketches at one minute per person, totaling 60 per hour, for $330. I am also digital ready and charge $250 per hour for digital sketches with a 5x7" glossy print and digital file access after the event. Travel fees may apply to areas 45 miles from Kansas City, MO. Travel fees can be waived for events 5 hours or longer depending on the distance from KCMO. Travel expenses typically include gas and wear, but may also necessitate a hotel if late and/or a flight if further than a 4-hour drive. I travel to all contiguous 48 states.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?Inquiries are always free with no obligation! A 50% deposit secures your date and creates a contract that needs to be signed and dated by the client. The remaining 50% will be due upon artist arrival or the client can request to pay the week of the event.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I started drawing caricatures at 15 years old with Kaman's Art Shoppes at Worlds of Fun. I rose from line artist to caricature supervisor to assistant manager in my eight years there before breaking away to freelance as an event artist. While there, I trained many artists in the art of caricature and currently hold classes through the Mid-Continent Public Library for caricaturing with teens. I'm a member of the Kansas City Artists Coalition and the International Society of Caricature Artists.
