Steve and crew were super nice. They cut up a huge tree very quickly and in small enough pieces for me to manage moving myself. Even gave me some garden tips. Seems like they know a lot about a lot. I would hire again for sure.

Kev's lawncare is a great, professional, and hardworking team. For my backyard we received the services of: shrub/stump removal, as well as the hauling off of theses items. Their prices are very reasonable/affordable. I would call them again in the future for my lawncare needs. I let my mother know of Kev's lawn services & she too is now a customer. Thank you to this company for all its hard work.

Tim was very responsive to messages and was able to work me into his schedule quickly. He did a great job on my sod and even helped me out in my garden too. He definitely knows what he is doing and provided a wealth of knowledge about the upkeep of my grass and garden as well. I would highly recommend.

The job that was done was to clear out a back and side garden also some weed pulling and shrub and bush trim along with this I asked that a cemi circle be cut out in front of my house for future planting.Geroldo and is staff were very professional and got a big job done with very little direction. We are very pleased with the outcome and would not hesitate to call him back for future jobs. C anderle Olathe Ks

Loera Landscaping has only cut the lawn one time, but I was completely satisfied with the job. I hope to continue this working relationship, because I like a great looking lawn and I believe I will have that with Loera Landscaping. We have discussed additional lawn services that he offers, and plan to include some of them in the future. Carlos did a great job.

Couldn’t be happier with the service provided by Vision Lawn and Landscape. First off, they showed up early which is always a win in my book. They did a thorough walkthrough to make sure they ended up completing the the job I wanted done. They were very polite, very professional and did some great clean work. They even went above and beyond to trim bushes in my other garden bed. I will for sure be using this company whenever I have other landscape needs. Highly recommend!

Chris transformed our front yard in Prairie Village, Kansas in to a rain garden—no easy task! With an ecological approach, Chris incorporated native plants and stormwater management best practices into our front yard. Chris is highly-capable, intelligent, and hard-working. His ecological knowledge sets him and his work apart from the rest.

Mr. Shabazz at Dougs Lawn and Garden Services offered us competitive pricing and a detailed scope of what he had envisioned for our lawn. It was in pretty bad shape but he assured us that he could take care of it and bring it back to life. He handled tree removal, seeding, mulching, flower installation and regular lawn maintenance. We were extremely satisfied with the work, cost and great customer service.

Bryan was amazing in helping me with my gardens. He had a quick response time and did an excellent job for a great price. I definitely will be calling him in the future for help and I definitely recommend him to anyone who needs help with creating/managing/maintaining a garden.

About

Can you still see your garden though all of the weeds? We know clients want more than to have a crew of laborers mechanically descend on their property and then leave lickety-split. We personalize our approach to gardening according to the needs of each client. We work predominately in the KC south area, but we have traveled to as far as Riverside and further north. We pull out weeds, maintain yards on a seasonal basis, take care of container plants, trim shrubs, build retaining walls, do fall cleanup, and more.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does it cost to have landscaping done?

Professional landscaping can help reinvent your outdoor space, boost your curb appeal and get a major return on investment with. Landscaping can encompass anything from adding new plants, trees and shrubs, to leveling the ground and laying sod for a lawn, to building in hardscaping such as sidewalks, water features or retaining walls. The national average landscaping price is $10,160. Landscaping prices can be far lower (with hourly rates ranging from $50 to $150) if you’re only seeking professional help with softscaping or seeking consultation on landscape design. Softscaping means adding or changing horticultural elements, such as planting a garden or adding a hedge. Hardscaping is where costs can really start to rise. Hardscaping requires labor and heavy equipment to excavate the earth; you may need to pour concrete, or you may need a pro who can transport and place gravel and other inorganic elements. Your total landscaping cost will vary based on the amount of work you want done, how much labor is required, and the cost of the materials you are using. A good rule of thumb for a major landscaping project, according to the American Society of Landscape Architects, is to budget 5 percent to 10 percent of the value of your home.

How much does it cost to landscape your front yard?

Prices for landscaping your front yard can range from a few hundred dollars to tens of thousands of dollars, depending on the scale of your front yard project. Your landscaping price will reflect how much change you implement, how much labor is required, and the cost of materials.

Landscaping is typically made up of softscaping and hardscaping. Softscaping refers to selecting trees, bushes, flowers and plants to achieve a desired aesthetic and to meet goals such as having a drought-tolerant yard. Hardscaping refers to moving earth, installing structures, and putting in decorative stonework, sidewalks or lighting. For softscaping, you may want to hire a landscape designer to consult on your plants and layout, and then do the digging and planting yourself or hire a gardner to handle the heavy lifting. A landscape designer’s hourly rate may range from $50 to $150 or more. If you want a turnkey approach, meaning someone who works with you to create the vision and then executes all the work, landscaping pricing will typically come down to a cost per square foot rather than an hourly rate. It’s a solid investment: Great landscaping can add up to 28 percent value to your home.
