Nadine was beyond amazing. She is the consummate professional: punctual, detail-oriented, knowledgeable, and incredibly efficient. I hired her to re-write my resume. I am making a career change after 10 years in my field. I was very anxious about making moves into the business world. However, Nadine quelled my fears and concerns, and gave me reassurance, advice, and unwavering support. I was initially concerned about spending so much money for help re-writing my resume. After working with Nadine, I feel more than confident that it was money well spent. I am confident when sending in my new resume, cover letter, and thank you letter to current job applications. Her service is the epitome of impeccable customer service.

Steve Sanborn is a gifted writer. He can take a complicated, technical subject and bring clarity to the reader in a way that few can do. My contact with Steve was through LifeFlight Eagle (LFE) and also the Missouri Emergency Medical Services Association (MEMSA). In both organizations he created original content for membership promotion as well as other informational documents. And in both organizations, he produced newsletters that were widely distributed. His writing style was engaging and informative. Deadlines were met and a quality product was produced. I have no hesitancy in endorsing Steve as a talented, skillful writer. I can assure others, you will not be disappointed if he writes for you.

I fluently speak and write English and French. I excellently write/edit in both languages, translate English to French and vice versa, orally and in writing. Since I work from home, I prefer working with my clients via telephone, email, and Skype. And if we have to meet in person, for let say a first meet and greet, I typically suggest meeting at a public place of your choice, and then go from there. With writing, editing and written translation, I charge per page, and it runs up to $5-$20, depending on how critical and demanding the project is. With oral translation, I charge $35/hour and $45/hour for algebra tutoring.

I operate writing, editing, and research services under the name, DWS Narratives. I specialize in family and personal history, business history, and early American history. Within those categories, I have ghostwritten a growing number of business books and have coauthored two life memoirs. Since 2008, I have edited the national quarterly newsletter of the General Society, Sons of the Revolution, a major Revolutionary War lineage society. Additionally, I regularly volunteer at the Midwest Genealogy Center in Independence, MO. I have a degree in journalism, and my vocational background of thirty years includes writing nonfiction and fiction manuscripts, memoirs, newsletters, newspaper reporting, magazine journalism, and communication, advertising, and ESL language instruction. I currently maintain a blog on Revolutionary War history and am developing a historical novel on that era.

I have extensive editorial, creative writing and proof reading experience. I can edit your work for you, or create a written project, such as a newsletter, flyer, informational packet or presentation. If you have web content, I may assist in proof reading and editing, and though I have not yet learned to write code, I plan to offer web design and content writing in the near future. Whether a business, or personal correspondence, an educational document, or a simple introductory statement, I know that I have the ability to help you express yourself professionally and in proper form. There is an abundance of improper grammar and spelling in recent years. Do not allow your class grade, your job interview, or your business be represented by errors in language usage! I want to help. My background includes writing a human interest column for a regional newspaper, contributing to poetry and essay journals, providing proof reading for voter records, assistant to the editor of a national Olympic sporting organization magazine, author of hospitality training manuals for multi-city training implementation with a national tour company, lead newsletter creator for a public library, and go-to proofreader, editor and spelling/grammar consultant for numerous business colleagues, students and associates in nearly every aspect of my adult years. There is never a project so small that spelling, punctuation, grammar, and word choice should be left to chance. I'm ready and able to help you make your message shine!

About

Writing is my passion! I love all types of writing. Assisting businesses and people with my skills as a wordsmith combines two of my favorites: helping people solve a problem and writing. The ability to communicate well is essential to any profession. Writing well and succinctly is a true gift. It's a gift I honed well while in broadcast journalism and outdoor advertising. These are two mediums where time and space are limited and priced at a premium. As a journalist, I would spend the entire day researching, interviewing and gathering information on a few topics. Then I would have to condense everything I had learned into a 30-second to 90-second story. Getting it right was essential as there were millions of viewers who could quickly vote with their remote that my story wasn't interesting. Getting the facts correct was equally as important because those same million viewers could instantly discredit me by revealing inaccuracies in my story. Do we all know Brian Williams? In outdoor advertising, yes billboards, you have even less time to capture someone's attention, about 10 seconds. Usually the people you are trying to reach with your message are moving at a high rate of speed and have lots of other distractions. I once helped a gentleman in Louisiana propose to his girlfriend on a billboard. I was so excited to help him and impressed with his creative proposal. Unfortunately, the message was so eye-catching that a child of his fiance's best friend saw it as our team was placing the billboard panels. My client's plan was to drive her past the billboard, but she received a phone call from the friend before he had a chance. The story ends with a happily married couple, just not the proposal he had planned --so not all bad. Most of my career has been writing brochures, web copy, compelling emails, case studies, invitations, company descriptions, pleas for funding or volunteers for a cause and much more. I have the unique ability to put myself in someone else's spot and determine how to not just capture his/her attention but to act on that emotion. I ask myself: What would make me visit this company? What would make me donate to this cause? What would make me respond to this email? As my husband likes to say, I have the gift of gab, referring to me as the "perfect talking machine" -- which is ideal when you need someone to write conversationally or naturally. This style of writing isn't a turn-off because you don't feel like you are being "sold" something. My talents lie in my ability to tell stories. Convincing people to use your company, product or service is often telling them the story behind why you are in business and how you have helped other clients. Overloading prospective clients with facts and features is necessary at the right time, but initially you have to get them interested in how you can help them achieve their goals. This usually happens because you tell them a good story. Let me tell your story for you. I promise to impress! Thanks for your time and attention. Have a great remainder of your day!

I read voraciously. I write sporadically. I obsess over grammar and syntax. I read with keen, critical eyes. I edit copy for fun. I do the dirty work so that my client makes a stellar (subconscious) first impression. This is my first attempt at writing and editing professionally. (I work as an attorney to pay the bills.) Thus, my rates will be flat and cheap at the outset. Thanks for your consideration. BL
