Yanming (or would you prefer I write Dr. Zhang?) was extremely helpful in tutoring me in MCAT physics. Although I had a weak background in physics, Yanming was able to focus on the details I needed most to do well on the MCATs without teaching me an entire physics course. After just a few hours with Yanming, I felt much more confident, and ended up scoring in the 90th percentile in the Physical Sciences section. I would highly recommend Yanming if you are having trouble with physics.
My daughter had one lesson so far. But we were able to meet him before the lesson to make sure that they would be able to work well together. He was extremely professional, and he was able to modify the lessons for appropriate tutoring.
Mr. Bob Johnson was a superb tutor! He is kind, professional, enthusiastic and dedicated. We highly recommend him. Thank you, again, Bob, for your excellent tutoring sessions. Our daughter said, repeatedly, how nice/kind you are!
We tried several other tutors before Arbor and found exactly what we are looking for here. Arbor Tutors is the best tutoring company anywhere.
Hugh is a nice young man. He is hard working and really understands math and computer programming. He has tutored in college, and has worked for me on his computer for Science Olympiad.
Jason is an excellent teacher and is knowledgeable across all subjects. He was able to immediately improve my son's test scores by giving him quick techniques and simple guides to answering test questions. He improved my son's ACT score enough to get him accepted into an Ivy school.
I appreciate that the experience is taylored to our needs.

Students that work with me are very confident in their ability after a few sessions. I take my time to explain the material on an individual basis, instead of instantly turning to the textbook's methods.

I was the supervisor of the largest community education center (Mullanphy) in St. Louis City (now retired). The youth attending the center were primarily 12 to 20 years old. We had a rule that in order to play basketball, you had to have three tutoring hours a week at the center, even if you were an honor student. I managed to get the honor students to tutor their peers if they were interested. I have been coaching students since 1985, from middle school through high school, as well as taught on the adjunct faculty of three community colleges. I like working with students, although my professional career was in business more than education. I have always got along well with youth and find it a worthwhile activity especially now that I am "semi-retired" and have more freedom with my schedule. You need to be consistent not gullible but respectful. What's easy for one person can be Greek to another. People learn differently, and the key is to find the key to each individual.
I am a private tutor of math and science. I have master's degree from Dartmouth College in synthetic organic chemistry and long-time formulations scientist at Pfizer.
I am a certified teacher: k-5 elementary and k-12 special education, learning and behavior disorders. I have worked/volunteered in schools for more than 25 years. I have the knowledge, experience and patience to help students improve their academic skills to help them achieve their full potential in school as well as in their future careers.
Over the course of my experience I have worked with children with learning challenges, improved students’ skill and confidence in Math, taught high school students test strategies and reviewed content to prepare them for the ACT, taught a summer course in Latin reading enrichment, and am currently teaching a summer Algebra prep course. I tutored for 2 1/2 years with Tutor Doctor and then independently for 1 1/2+ years after the franchise dissolved. I have raised students ACT scores from 1-3 points overall, and up to 5 points on individual sections. I have improved students' grades in geometry and algebra, and increased a student's confidence and scores in 7th grade math. (When I started tutoring her she had melt-downs at almost every session. Now she has been getting B's and approaching her homework with a more positive attitude.) I also helped a student improve his study habits for Biology and raise his grade from failing to a B. I have also worked with an ADHD student to help him keep up in a college prep high school setting. As well as tutoring high school subjects, I also teach piano performance.
I provide private tutorial for SAT, ACT, ISEE in all subject areas. Additionally, I provide tutorial in coursework from elementary- through high school in all subject areas. I have a high rate of augmenting composite scores for standardized tests.
