- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Design projects vary significantly from one project to the next. To meet the needs of my clients, I offer different options for billing with the most common being by retainer (Paying for a portion of the design time up front rather than hour by hour) which allows for the project to continue moving forward. For larger projects where an entire project is being managed, the most common way is a percentage of the total project cost. The percentage varies based on project scope, but is always discussed and disclosed ahead of time. The percentage based fee is available on any project if preferred. Color Consultation/Express Design: For client's who just need brief consulting and design advice, the Express Design/Color Consultation is a great option. This includes 2 hours to be used however needed based on your project; more time can be added at $75/hour. The 2 Hour Express Design/Color Consultation is $150. Organizing Services For organizing services, my hourly rate is $55 with discounts available on packages contracted (purchasing your time up front) or we can work in sessions as your budget allows. My professional services fee includes a consultation, research & planning, shopping & drive time, and donation drop off (if applicable). You can be involved as much or as little as you're comfortable with and your time allows.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Consultation- it's important that I, and for the functionality of your space, understand your goals along with how you currently use your space, in order to create a customized, cohesively designed space (or system) that is simple, sustainable and that exceeds your expectations! After our consultation, I'll create a visual plan to present to you, and make any necessary changes. I offer the first revision to the design concept/ plan at no cost. Once the design has been approved, I'll put together the materials list for approval/ordering. Oftentimes, I order on behalf of the client which allows us access to trade only resources, and my trade discounts. However, some prefer their curated list to be able to order at their leisure, which consists of item photos, prices, and clickable links directly to order, eliminating the possibility for ordering errors. (This is most typical for spaces that are done is phases, or for those not ready to purchase everything needed, but that still want to have a professionally designed space planned out so there's no guesswork in what to order.) Once you've approved the plan, I get to work. For organizing projects there's typically a sorting & purging process that has to take place, I'll purchase any containers or items from the plan, and lastly stage, style & set up your new space!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a degree in Interior Design, with over 15 years of experience in all facets of residential design & construction. I've specialized in Kitchen & Bath Design over the years, and have a thorough understanding of appropriate material application, which is vital for longevity & durability in a room as heavily used (and let's be honest, abused) as kitchens and bathrooms. I stay up to date on industry trends and best practices to ensure I'm able to offer the services clients are seeking.
