First of all, why can we only choose 3 of the five star-qualities when we review on Thumbtack? That’s just wrong. So wrong when you stumble onto a resource that deserves ALL STARS AVAILABLE. Steve Shapiro is a fantastic accountant. I came to him a ball of nerves with some legally-required, quick turn-around, catch-up tax work to do and he knocked it out like a total boss, gave amazing advice and calmed my nerves. He did it all with the confidence that comes from years of experience and solid smarts. And, oh, did I mention, his fees are absolutely fair!!? Most the time in the tax industry when someone is this good it costs an arm and a leg. I never want anyone else to do my taxes again. He will be helping me steer back towards responsible waters with my taxes and I am actually looking forward to it. So this is more than a review really. He deserves a big-huge thank you. When I provide a quote under this scenario I always ask myself, would I pay the quoted fee? That's how I base my pricing. Wouldn't ask someone to pay something I wouldn't be willing to pay.

Ask a lot of questions and listen to what the person is saying. Determine what the goals are then determine what is the most effective way to accomplish that.

I am an enrolled agent authorized to practice before the IRS. Rigorous continuing education requirement required each year and I commit myself to far exceed what is required each year. Never to old to learn something new in any aspect of life.
