- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Consultation: $90 Design (garden blueprints): $280
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When someone hires me for a design or consultation, we set a time to meet at their property. I normally ask them to complete a questionnaire beforehand so that I have a good idea of what they want. When we meet in person, we look around the property, talk about ideas, and begin to make a plan. For blueprints, I will need to take measurements. I always follow up within a week or two with a detailed plan. (For a consultation, that includes a task list and plant list. For a design project, that includes the full set of blueprints, task list and plant list.)
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a bachelor's degree in Plant Biology, and I studied Horticulture at Meramec Community College. I am continually reading articles and going to garden centers to see what's new. I also spend a lot of time at the Missouri Botanical Garden and periodically take classes there for continuing education.
