I loved my look it just took way too long to complete ended postponing our ceramony by an hour so she could finish my step daughters makeup. After the ceremony she added to my step daughters make up which was unnecessary and my daughter ended up taking it off because she didn't like it, which I had told the artist from the beginning.Oct 9, 2019VerifiedSenior Salon Artist▪︎BlankCanvas Beauty Team's reply
Gina thank you for your feedback. I appreciate your feedback and apologize for any miscommunication on our part based on directions given to me during the appointment. Returned after initial end time for hair and from the feedback given was requested to take the additional approach for makeup. During the transition also there was a 20 minute delay for starting on time which was not due to the intentions of your artist. I understand the time urgency of a wedding and will absolutely communicate any time lapse diligently. Thank you so much again for your review and providing the necessary information to improve and apologize for the delay that was caused and for the impact that was caused. We absolutely appreciate your business and please email your artist to explain and any service which was not fulfilled will not be charged for.

I booked Danyelle to do my hair and makeup for my bridal shower (despite a review i read about her being 40 minutes late to someone's makeup appointment). I originally asked for 10am but she indicated that she only does 2 hour windows for appts and that 9-11 would work better so i agreed . The day of the appointment arrives and at 9:13AM she sent me a casual TEXT that says "I will be there at 10:30" with no explanation, no apology , and not even a call. So i got worried because my shower was to start at noon. I called her to see what had happened and she said she was leaving another appointment and didn't realize that it was an hour and a half away from my location. I (respectfully) told her that I was worried about not being able to make it to the shower on time and that now i needed to find other arrangements (which was impossible to do in such a short period of time and didn't happen). I asked her for a refund of my $75 deposit and said that i would still try to use her for another time in the future (despite her unprofessional behavior). I got over it and just ended up doing my own hair and makeup. The next day, I receive a refund in my Paypal account for my deposit but it was only for $55! I emailed her to ask why it was $20 short and she didn't respond. I also tried to call her and she ignored my call. it wasn't about the money, it was about the fact that she would do something so shady after completely inconveniencing me. I have never left a review on anything but i felt compelled to do so after this unprofessional behavior. Makeup artists are booked for events where (most of the time) there are deadlines that they need to adhere to especially if it is an event that is important to the client like a bridal shower, wedding, etc. She is super inconsiderate and unprofessional and I would never recommend her to anyone.Nov 11, 2019VerifiedSenior Salon Artist▪︎BlankCanvas Beauty Team's reply
I am unsure as to why you felt this way as I did not want for you to cancel the appointment due to my communication about arriving later than I anticipated. I do believe as a professional it was in your best interest to be aware of any delay in the start time. I also recieved an email from you at 6pm the night prior about the address for my on location booking. Based on the original listed location and the address provided the evening of being different I did not have any time to prep myself or my clients who were booked in advance with all the travel information well before a 12 hour notice and past 6pm the evening before. I left working in a salon because I could never bring myself to charge for cancellations. In this case the time I lost with your cancellation, the miles driven to you prior to your cancellation while in route, and even personally refunded any security deposit regardless of the acknowledgement on our contract stating the non refundable deposit for cancellations for on location. I respectfully understood why and I absolutely would have had no problems completing the appointment in time regardless of the delay. As an artist I am not paid for my time but for my vision, inspiration, creativity, and consitent results. I do wish you would have not allowed your request for cancellation to happen so I had a chance to make the day a little brighter for you. I am confident that this would absolutely be a different outcome. I also emailed you to clarify I do not answer phone calls while on location or with clients as it is unprofessional and I again was not given time to respond or acknowledge any escalation had occured. I wish you the best
Danyelle is a SWEETHEART. We booked her after a bad experience with another makeup artist and Danyelle couldn't have set the bar any higher. She was communicative, polite, on time and very open to what the bride wanted. Which, in my case, I had no idea what I wanted. Danyelle provided ideas without taking over and she even stayed longer at our trial than scheduled because my skin type is tricky and she wanted to make sure it was perfection before she called it a day. She came to our house, was respectful of our home and we were comfortable with her pretty quickly. She is not shy and was very chatty, which I loved, because I hate going to the salon and feeling like I was really struggling to keep the conversation going. Danyelle made us feel at ease and like we'd known her forever. I'd recommend Danyelle because her quality and service really shined. The price was doable and I feel like I got way more than I paid for out of Danyelle! We loved her and cannot wait to have her work her magic on us on our big day.Oct 15, 2019Senior Salon Artist▪︎BlankCanvas Beauty Team's reply

Danielle was friendly and did very professional work; however, she arrived more than 40 minutes late. She did not contact me in reference to her delay I had to contact her. I arrived 30 minutes later than planned to my anniversary party. Everyone loved the makeup even though after getting dressed I thought it was a little off for my complexion.Oct 28, 2019Verified
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?professional makeup artists are not typically the cheapest solution but essential for brides, photoshoots, commercial production, and fashion!
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I typically require a consultation and deposit. I encourage trials & communication
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?initially recieved my Esthetician license & MUA certification in 2012 however annually I attended workshops, seminars, or classes to maintain and develop my skills.
