What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We usually charge between $39-$49 depending on length of the visit and types of modalities used.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
A general consultation of the reason they came to the office. Then we tend to perform an exam consisting of Meridian Palpation, Pulse Diagnosis, Orthopedic & Neurologic Exam. If the patient is a candidate, a trial treatment will be provided.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am first and foremost trained and licensed as a Doctor of Chiropractic, which gives me a unique understanding of how the body works as a whole. I am also certified by my board for acupuncture and physiotherapy. I am a Fellow with the American Society of Acupuncture, and I have been providing meridian therapy and acupuncture since 2002 - with thousands of successful treatments.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
One of my professors in School was a master acupuncturist. The technique and success impressed and fascinated me. While in school I learned all I could about acupuncture and naturopathic medicine from my instructor, and even interned in his office. Upon graduation as a Chiropractor - I completed my acupuncture training and began blending the two therapies together for amazing results.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I generally work with people dealing with pain, limitation of movement, and muscle tension. From back and neck, to shoulder problems (I love treating shoulder problems), to plantar fasciitis and carpal tunnel.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
We recently treated a patient with a Rotator Cuff injury. After months of physical therapy, they just weren't getting better. Within 3 weeks we had 80% of her range of motion back, and by the end of 2 months - she was pain free and 90% of her original movement. Almost 4 months later she returned - still doing great in the shoulder - but now for another issue.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Experience is key.
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
Acupuncture works by stimulating the nervous and vascular system to either increase or decrease a reaction to the area. This reaction can decrease pain reception, increase blood flow, and stimulate healing to the area - which is usually great. If your condition has a mechanical quality to it - bone spurs, short leg, surgical repair - the treatments may help, but will often require regular maintenance. Know that some things can be treated and release, while others may need ongoing care, is important when considering true cost of long term care.
