I have taken private voice lessons for several years at COO and more recently, guitar lessons. It has been a great experience for me as I have learned a lot about vocal technique and performance through the many opportunities I have been given to perform for small and large audiences. I highly recommend Conservatory of the Ozarks for those seeking to improve and enhance their abilities or take their talent to the next level.

I teach violin and piano at Conservatory of the Ozarks. It's a great place for people of all ages who are interested in learning music at any level from beginner to college. There are voluntary events every month for students to show their progress and perform with other students. Highly recommended.

Sitting nearby, my son nudged me and said, "Mom...listen to this! He's going to play a guitar solo on his violin! Do you know how incredible that is?" Well, I soon learned how incredible it was as I sat with my mouth gaping open in astonishment, watching and listening to a teenage boy on stage play his violin in an amazing fashion! It seemed like he played the violin up one side and down the other! I asked my son, "Who IS that?" and he replied, "It's Jonathan Sneddon! That's who we've all been talking about! He's unbelievable!" I ageed. He WAS unbelievable. Unbelievably good. GREAT, in fact. "You should hear him play the piano!" I couldn't imagine.... But thankfully, I didn't have to wait too long. It was a rapturous experience. Jonathan doesn't just play a song or a sonata or concerto...he plays his soul. And you can feel it in every ounce of your being. It is one of my great pleasures in life to introduce someone new to Jonathan's musical gifting. I glance back and forth from Jonathan's hands moving swiftly along the keyboard to the expressions on the faces of those listening to him. There always comes a moment...soon after his music begins...when they get it. When, depending on the nature of the composition he is playing, they are swept to the depths, to the height, to the breadth of the music with him. Jonathan's ability to weave emotion into music is like none other. He is a truly wonderful musician, playing not just for technicality, but for the soul. Several years ago, one of our sons began piano instruction with Jonathan. His progress has been remarkable, his technique exceptional and his love of playing increases with each song that he accomplishes. Jonathan's instruction to him is direct but never domineering, constructive and encouraging. We are very thankful that our son has been able to study under such a remarkable teacher and musician. One year, as a unique gift for my 80 year old mother, I retained Jonathan to play a private Christmas piano concert, just for her. He provided beautiful Christmas background music for us while we mixed and mingled at our party, and then he played an hour-long Christmas concert, directed as a gift for my mother. She was thrilled, and it was a Christmas party we will never forget! I highly recommend Jonathan Sneddon to anyone who is looking for a piano or violin performer or instructor. You will not be disappointed!

About

Through violin instruction, my goals are to provide the student challenging repertoire, study through etudes and scales, and learn music theory. Through learning challenging repertoire, the students will develop good practice techniques, increase their sight-reading ability, and enjoy being able to make music. Through studying etudes, the students will learn and be able to strengthen their technique on certain bowing styles and in different positions on the fingerboard. Through scales, we can apply certain techniques we have learned in the etudes and work on left and right hand technique while playing relatively easy passages. It is also customary for students to work through music theory books through which they will gain knowledge of note values, music terminology, chords, and scales.
