FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Pricing is not complicated,(per-say)-Open and honest communication with the customer and the knowledge of similar wood traits in relation to cost and effect is major. I feel any professional should be able to match expense perimeters with various wood grades/types to the project in question. If you are going to paint your cabinets, oak or mahogany does not have to be used when there are cheaper hardwoods that will finish-out just as beautiful.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I listen for different styles or paints/materials that are introduced into this trade. The internet has provided the ability to view different works that are popular outside of your country as well.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have always showed a desire to create/construct things. As a sophomore in High school I enrolled in a drafting class and a skilled trades program for carpentry, for the next three years I continued these studies and enjoyed working with the different tools/materials used in construction. It went from wanting to learn how to a sense of self-pride every time I completed a project and it has never left or grown old to me.
