Introduction: Hello! I'm Jay, a computer necromancer from Bozeman: I can bring life back into nearly anything, no matter how broken or malware-riddled! I'm also an excellent tech-to-English translator who can help you pick out and install the best, most cost-effective hardware for your business or personal needs. I am CompTIA A+ certified. Previously, I worked at the university for four years doing enterprise network and computer support, deployment, and repair. I also run a Linux server which hosts websites, email, and games, among other things.

Jay was very easy to talk to and work with. The quality of their work and service (regarding the network cable they made for me and the files they helped me recover from my dead hard drive) was very good. I definitely recommend them to anyone who needs computer help!

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

I am flexible on hourly rates for large projects taking over 20 hours of work, people in need, and students. I accept cryptocurrency and love to barter!

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I always ask clients to walk me through their problem and everything they've discovered in trying to solve it themselves. For IT consulting work, I try to establish a clear end goal with the client. Sometimes people don't know what they want or need, just that their current setup is not acceptable.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I am CompTIA A+ certified and pursuing Network+ and Linux+ certification. I am finishing my B.S. in computer science from Montana State University. I learned most of my IT knowledge from my four-year helpdesk job at the university.
