Hired on Thumbtack

Hired on Thumbtack

I hired Peak City to finish a basement room. Though it was just one room, it was fairly extensive as code required the addition of a window (which required cutting into a brick wall/engineering/sign off etc). In addition to the window, Paul anticipated and shared with me everything the town was going to require before he even quoted the job. Yes, I had lower bids but no one else mentioned up front the extra costs that would be incurred. (Which obviously would've resulted in higher costs than originally bid.) The total scope of work involved extending the HVAC, moving plumbing, adding electrical, framing out of a closet, drywall install/finishing, the addition of a soffit, hardwood installation (which included removing a threshold and weaving the new hardwoods into the existing hardwoods, which was done seamlessly) painting and trim. I was also impressed with the fact that he took it upon himself to match the existing interior doors/trim etc. (That may sound like a no brainer but I've done many homes/projects over the years and you'd be surprised!!) He did his best to minimize dust and the work area was cleaned up daily (again something one would expect, but doesn't necessarily happen without asking!). He had a handful of trades in who did the same. He finished on time and stayed within the agreed budget with no surprises! Highly recommended!

FAQs

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

Home renovation and remodeling including all interior and exterior additions. We also handle new home construction on your lot including demolition of an existing home to accomodate construction.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

we reccomend you compare pricing with several contractors and utilize references. You should also look at the contractors previous work when possible. Pricing should not always be your ultimate determining factor. A contractor needs to be licensed, insured and use licensed sub-contractors that you can verify.
