Introduction: Asheville Math is a local small business. We aren't hemmed in by distant corporate policies or bureaucratic rigor – as such, we can focus solely on helping people learn math in whatever way works best for them. Many other tutoring centers target wealthy customers - we feel everyone should be able to learn math and work hard to find ways to keep our prices affordable. . We love seeing people overcome their anxieties about math and realize the possibilities that await them!

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

We recommend coming in to take a math skills assessment. It's free and usually takes about an hour. Our assessments are not only a thorough examination of a student's math knowledge, but also a chance for us to observe a student's attitude and confidence. By identifying both the mathematical and psychological needs of a student, we can create a curriculum specifically tailored to meet the student's needs. With those results in hand, we can recommend a type of tutoring and what package would best meet your needs.

  • Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

We recently helped a young woman increase her math score on the SAT 200 points!

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Teaching is a skill - merely having the subject knowledge isn't enough. While working with someone with a doctorate in math might seem like a good idea, what you really want is someone with expertise in teaching math.
