FAQs
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
8 Things to Look For In a Sales Trainer 1. Experienced Sales Rep. Your sales trainer should have walked in a sales person's shoes and experienced all the challenges, ups, downs, and successes that sales people live through every day. 2. Experienced Sales Manager. Sales managers have a different set of requirements than sales reps. Thus, your sales trainer should have worked as a successful sales manager in order to relate to those requirements and deliver training that is directed at real-life situations. 3. Teaches and uses an established and proven sales process. Selling is more than just a random set of activities that work only if you are lucky or your timing happens to be good. Your sales trainer should have an organized methodology that teaches a process for selling, with each stage in the proper order of execution. 4. Offers follow-up programs and support. Once the training course is completed, you don't want your people forgetting what they learned. Hence, your sales trainer should have follow-up coaching programs that help re-enforce what was taught in the classroom environment, as well as an avenue to get answers to questions and help with selling challenges.  5. Brings more to the table than just training experience. Your sales trainer should offer more than just sales training, such as sales process development, business acumen, marketing experience, customer retention skills, and more. 6. Has references. Obviously, you don't want to be dealing with a rookie. Get references and check them to make sure your sales trainer meets your expectations. 7. Offers classroom and eLearning options. Many people can't afford to spend a solid day in a classroom environment since they are too busy selling. Both eLearning and classroom training should be offered as options by your sales trainer. With eLearning you should have an option to get a LIVE trainer, as well as self-paced, pre-recorded sessions. Also, you should be able to choose the time and dates instead of being locked into a pre-defined schedule that is not convenient to you or your sales team. 8. Is an engaging, interactive and entertaining presenter. Let's face it, training can be boring. But there's no reason it has to be. In addition to providing valuable and useful information, your sales trainer should engage the audience, have a good sense of humor, and train your team in an entertaining environment. Have some fun!
