She is tutoring me English as a second language. She is patient and knowledgeable. Her lessons are well adapted to my interest and purpose of leaning English. She kindly fixes my English documents sometimes in outside of regular lessons.
Laurel is one of the most professional, and open, friendly approaches to online education for language instruction. She is personable, and treats everyone with dignity and respect; including children. Laurel effectively uses online tools, for social media integration for education. I have learned a great deal working with her on radio-based education development.
I have been working with Jill for a couple of months so far (and I'll keep working with her in the future). I'm originally from Spain but when I moved to Raleigh a few months ago I realized that, even though I had a good level of written English, my communication skills (listening and speaking) were not good enough. I reached out to Jill in order to help me out with this and from the very first moment, she pinpointed my weaknesses and prepared tailored lessons that are really helping me to articulate much better, speak more fluently and reduce my strong Spanish accent. Jill is very approachable, flexible with her student's needs, very committed and she has a great command of the language. I really like that she doesn't follow a book in her lessons and prepares ad-hoc materials based on my specific needs instead. Moreover her lessons are really enjoyable. I was able to see how my communication skills improved after a few lessons. In summary, Jill is being instrumental in my integration of the language, therefore I strongly recommend her as the great English teacher she is.
He was my English teacher in Spain during three academic years in college. Juan is really knowledgeable and classes with him are very enjoyable. Highly recommended.
Silvia has been teaching me Spanish for over a year and I couldn't be happier with my experience. She is a native speaker, and most importantly, she has a deep understanding of modern language teaching methods and the necessary emotional conditions for students to be successful. Teaching Spanish is clearly a passion for her. She constantly challenges me not only to learn the grammar and vocabulary of the language, but to use the mechanics in creative ways. She draws on all kinds of materials, including movies, short stories, and improv games and gets me to think critically about what I have seen, all while using Spanish. She is flexible and curious, and lessons are always fun.
My daughter started French tutoring with Laura at the end of January 2018 and she absolutely loves her tutoring sessions! Laura is wonderful at teaching language so my daughter understands it, she is able to clarify the lessons that she was taught in school. Laura is also very patient in her approach and adds an element of fun to the tutoring sessions. My daughter's grade has improved dramatically in French since her lessons with Laura. She has a warm, welcoming environment and is very easy to work with. I highly recommended her!!
We met at a cafe. I got there about 10 minutes earlier than our arranged time, but he was already there, preparing for my lessons. He is committed to teaching English. He is very passionate and always makes sure if the student really understands what he says. He loves to answer any questions about English.
Ms.Jami started tutoring my children (ages 3 and 4) in Spanish a little less than a year ago. During that time my son's natural interest for reading increased but decreased when working with mommy. Ms. Jami did some preliminary testing to see if he was truly ready and soon she began tutoring him in reading also. Initially, I was concerned that he would not be able to tolerate 30 mins of Spanish then 30 mins reading. However, he is able to maintain in seat behavior with a short break between subjects and the 60 min sessions go by quickly. There is an award system in place to manage behavior and fun interactive hands on activities (singing, music, tactile and visual stimuli) which sustains their attention. As an educator it evident that tasks are age appropriate and consistently tweaked to meet the needs of my children. My children are day and night in terms of personalities and learning styles. I am alway's amazed how Ms. Jami manages both of them in the same session. A sign of a great teacher and a gentle spirit. Ms. Jami presents with weekly lesson plans, carry over activities, affordable rates and she genuinely likes children. I highly recommended her, she is one of my best finds on Craigslist to date! The children love and respect her!
You should take your skills as an ESL Business Instructor and teach online. I have moved from face-to-face teaching to Online ESL Business Instruction. http://improveenglishfluency.com/
If you or your child are like most people, you have a variety of interests and skills. The way our school system is designed suits certain personality types more than others. That's inevitable. When you invent a whole system for mass education, it will fit some people better than others but imagine how great it would be to find a place that allows you to learn just what you want to at your own pace and making whatever connections you wanted. Individualize your learning with our math, English and music tutors. For instance, what if your son seriously wants to learn how to play guitar and also needs math tutoring or test preparation, or let's say, your daughter doesn't like school athletics but is curious about yoga and you also want her to get some graphic design experience for college and her eventual career? Can you fulfill all these needs in one educational setting? Yes! DoveFox's math, English and music tutors are ready for you! DoveFox Studios (DFS) is a K-12 tutoring center that was founded by Jon Christie, an experienced music and math teacher who has taught high school. He knows the pros and cons of the school system, and he founded DFS to address the gaps providing an innovative, flexible, highly individualized learning approach. DFS has a team of over 30 qualified math, English, and music tutors who teach an inspiring range of topics, including the following: * AP calculus and physics * Test preparation: SAT, EOC, and GRE * Pilates and yoga * Tons of music: piano, guitar, percussion, orchestral, instruments, voice and theory * Professional audio and recording and more Our tutors in math, English, music, and other subjects will meet you in your home or in comfortable, professional studios or offices, all for a very affordable rate. Call or e-mail us today! You won't find this diverse range of topics in school or in any other tutoring center. Individualized learning plans: What do we mean by individualized? At DFS, we believe in practical application of what you're learning. We believe you learn best when your instructor is aware of your own style. We provide instruction that is organic and flexible tailored to the student, whether individually or in small groups. Imagine, for instance, that you are learning piano. After gaining basic skills, you want to know how to accompany groups, like choirs or other singing groups at school or church. Your math tutor can arrange for you to learn accompaniment skills. We don't follow a set curriculum. You have a part in designing what you're learning! Your English tutor can select stories that you are interested in to teach you what you want to know. Your music tutor can introduce you to the world of professional music, show you around a recording studio, introduce you to professional performers. Call us today, and let's explore the exciting possibilities!
I prepare tailored lessons for each individual student based on their goals and needs.
I tutor all aspects of English -- essay writing, reading comprehension, grammar, vocabulary, and basic sentence structure. My focus has been with elementary school kids; however, I can easily tutor middle school, high school, and even college-level students. I am experienced, hard working, and receptive to receiving input from parents. I review grammar, parts of speech, assign writing exercises, and explain the benefits of variety in writing. I will review inferences as well as figurative language with the idea of incorporating simile, metaphor, hyperbole and personification into your student's writing. I also have a set program in place that demonstrates strategies for writing better sentences, progressing from grammar school level strategies all the way to high school level strategies, regardless of your student's grade level.

While growing up in Miami, my mother taught me to play the piano. I later took lessons at the University of Miami and Florida International University as well. My minor at the University of Miami was music. My major was journalism. I had the opportunity to teach English as a second language in Miami in adult education. I earned a certificate in teaching ESL at Duke University and have taught at Durham Tech as well as tutored privately, tailoring lessons to the needs of my students. I would enjoy accepting beginning level piano students, particularly children between ages 6 and 12. I'll teach them the notes and theory they need to get started. For ESL, I'm interested in adult students. Please contact me so we may have a free introductory 30-minute meeting.
I am a Raleigh based ESL certified teacher, and I received my certification through Oxford seminars. I began my ESL journey in January as I want to eventually teach students overseas, in Europe, Asia, or UAE. While I am in the states, I would love to help local students who want to learn English as a secondary language. It can be difficult not speaking the native language in the country you reside. My goal is to assist you on your journey with learning the English language and becoming fluent in the language. My current client includes an adult Turkish native speaker who is eager to learn the English language.
I am a NBCT with 18 years of experience in teaching ESL and Spanish. I can also tutor reading, writing, and math to students in grades K-8. I have experience teaching K through adult.
I've been emerged in what I do, and work on it every day. I have performed with several chamber choirs, and state choirs, and have a lot of experience with learning, and performing, and just the art of it in general.
I have been teaching piano for over 20 years. I would like to share my gift and passion of music with others. Let's start to make your dreams come true!
I specialize in helping out with French, English, and mathematics. I am currently a freshman at UNCW, and I have placed into higher levels than most students of my age in all three of these subjects.
