Introduction: I love to teach! and share my knowledge! I love sharing my musical experiences and also my world experiences with my students regardless of age. All my students will benefit from my teaching philosophy, because it combines both my American as well as my European background and also my experiences I had studying in New York (Manhattan School of Music, Columbia University) and in Vienna, Austria (Vienna Konservatorium, Private University).

I am a student at Piedmont Community College in Roxboro, NC. I have had the pleasure of having Panos as my instructor in several classes there. I took American Music, Chorus, and Music Theory. He is an excellent teacher. I have to give him so much credit for helping me to get my voice back. I was not able to sing as well as I could when I was younger, and I guess I was also a bit scared to be in a Chorus. With Panos' voice exercises and training, I was amazed at how quickly I could sing better. I also (re)learned how to read music and details about conducting in that class and in Music Theory. He has truly given me an appreciation for music and confidence in my ability as a singer. I highly recommend him, whether you need musical instruction, or as a pianist. He is a consummate.professional.

My experience with Panos has been overwhelmingly positive. My son, who is 10, has studied with Panos for more than 5 years. Now, my daughter, who is 6, is studying with him as well. I am confident that my children are receiving the highest quality musical instruction under Panos. He has the outstanding ability to motivate and foster a love a music in my children. Our experience with Panos is that he is not only a gifted musician but a teacher as well. My children are consistently improving and, under his guidance, receiving a top-notch musical education. Panos has always emphasized excellence while, at the same time, introducing pieces that inspire and grab the attentions of my children. As a result, he is contributing to my goal of fostering a love of music in my children that will last them a lifetime. Never have I doubted choosing Panos for this responsibility.

Panos Messis is a talented, passionate professional. During his tenure as Minister of Music in the church I served as Pastor, I found Panos to be most pleasant and professional. I highly recommend him for any serious student of piano. His compositions and ability are amazing!

  • Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

Piedmont Community College where I am the Head of the Piano Department and a Music Instructor since 2008 hosts an annual event with the name: StepN2theArtZ This year (2012) the theme for our event was: The Dominican Republic and Haiti. I am proud to say that I performed with my colleague Michael Thompson guitarist and Mike Willis on the vibes Latin Music. However I also composed a work for piano which was dedicated to our event StepN2theArtZ. The work is called: An afternoon in Santo Domingo. The proudest moment for me was, when my students came for class after the event and were proud to have me as their College Instructor! For more information about the event please look at the link below: http://www.piedmontcc.edu/CollegeNews/Article/7623/stepn2theartz-on-oct-17.aspx
