Introduction: I have been teaching guitar, voice, bass, songwriting, and theory for 25 years. I am also an active touring and recording musician, leading The Old Ceremony since 2004. I love working with students of all levels because I always learn something along the way too.

Guitar Lessons

Django has really improved my understanding of how the guitar works in terms of chord composition, rhythm, and fret board understanding. Learning lots!

Guitar Lessons

My daughter has learned so much in such a short amount of time. She loves lessons and says she's lucky to have such a patient, kind, funny, and cool teacher. We couldn't be happier!

Django taught my daughter guitar for approximately 6 years. He was warm and wise, reliable and had a true gift for finding the right material to inspire her studies. He is also an outstandingly accomplished musician in his own right...I recommend him unreservedly.

Django has been a wonderful guitar teacher for my 15 year-old son. His musicianship is incredibly inspiring and his teaching style is both supportive and challenging at the same time. Thank you, Django!

My son, Eli, enjoyed four years of lessons with Django. Django added to Eli’s love of guitar by expanding his knowledge of different genres of music. Eli always looked forward to their time together.

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

My students generally take weekly lessons. These prices reflect that. One-off or irregular lessons are slightly more expensive ($40/$60/$75).

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

We assess your level, your interests, and any goals or concerns you may have, then go from there to create a custom curriculum for you.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have taught private music lessons for 25 years. I was a faculty member at the National Guitar Workshop in CT for 16 years, teaching guitar, voice, and songwriting. In addition, I've written and recorded thirteen albums of my own songs since 1996, and toured with The Old Ceremony, Au Pair, and Big Star's Third in the U.S., Canada, and Europe.
