- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I offer $85 one-on-one hour long consultations. This session basically gives you an opportunity to ask me any question you have about your garden, your vegetable garden, plant health, etc.. I take the time to give you some of the best advice I can offer from years for training and trial and error of my own garden. My goal is to help you save money long term and to provide my customers with confidence and passion for simplified biodiversity and self sufficiency. My clients that ask for me to provide services after our consultation is credited $50 towards the services I offer. For most projects I charge a daily fee (6-8 hrs) of $350, plus materials. Other, more labor heavy projects I work within your budget to best suit your needs. We also build custom NC red cedar garden beds in house and can deliver. Prices vary based on requested size or garden bed.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I come by to examine their property, meet and greet, and get a better idea of the service they need. I provide an idea of an estimate of my labor based on the service needed. I don't ask for a labor deposit at all, but a deposit may be required towards materials. An option my clients also have is to meet me at the greenhouse to purchase materials that I can bring with me to their property and begin the project on our agreed day.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have worked in the landscape industry for 20 years. I have done everything from landscape maintenance (mow, blow, edge) to seasonal specialities (seeding, aerating, fertilizing) for several companies. I have also worked for a well known landscape designer who worked on large properties and residential entrances. He would give me his design ideas and blueprints and I did the labor for him. I also worked for a turf company that handles turf for golf course properties. And finally I have worked for the top 2 best tree companies in NC as a plant health care/tree health care specialist and arborist.
