- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
8 to 24 hours a year to keep up with the new things that come out. The lock companies are all the time changing something.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
By accident. Had a property manage that wanted someone to just change out locks for him when tenants moved. Talked to a friend who told me I could learn to rekey the locks instead of throwing them out. Worked part time until I sold out of by other business and started locksmithing full time.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Rekey locks when someone moves into a new home. Work with property managers and landlords doing evictions with the sheriff.for them. Work with small businesses helping then with security of inventory and employees.
