Introduction: Our school, Harmony House for Kids, is a branch of Music People Studios, located in the South Charlotte/Cotswold area.
I have been teaching music to children ages three and up for more than 10 years. My husband has been teaching music to teens and adults for more than 25 years.
Harmony House for Kids offers private music, voice and rhythmic education for children ages 3 to 11 years old.
Our studio is equipped with a variety of instruments, including piano, keyboards, guitars, violins, flutes, bass guitars, various percussion instruments and drum kits.
We will create an individual curriculum for every child to meet his/her needs and progress.
Some of our students are German or have a German background. For those students, the music classes are taught in the German language if desired.
Our studio is located in Cotswold at the corner of Sardis and Randolph Rd., less than 10 minutes east of South Park Mall.
All our classes are scheduled classes. Please contact us to set up an appointment for a tour of the studio.
Classes are generally private classes and are scheduled Mondays to Fridays from 8 A.M. to 6 P.M. We give discounts for morning classes from 8 A.M. to 1 P.M., as well as siblings discounts. You can book 30-minute, 45-minute or 60-minute classes.
We also offer music and art camps over the summer break.

Petra is kind, enthusiastic, and a knowleagle teacher, our son really enjoyed learning about music, playing the instruments and performing for us at the end of camp. Harmony House is a great educational experience for kids and a source of pride for us parents as we see their eyes open up and the big smiles pour out as they happily perform for us.

Our son attended summer camp in 2013, where he learned to appreciate music and all the possible instruments he could play. Through Petra's method, he is motivated to learn so we will be starting him this Summer with 30 minute sessions.

The service and opportunity for my daughter to receive piano instruction from Petra has been a great blessing. My daughter is 7 and wants to take piano on her own accord. However, she does not want to practice. Petra has been very creative in rewarding my daughter for mastering the mundane...Practice. A huge added benefit was also the opportunity to learn piano in either English or German. My kids attend a German language immersion program and Petra has been instrumental in not only improving her fluency in German, but the language of Music!

Great teacher, flexible schedule (my daughter took classes at 8:15 am before school). If something came up Petra was willing to reschedule the lesson with no problem or penalty. Petra keeps the lessons fun and changes up the routine so the student stay focused and don't get bored. Highly recommend!

Both my children (9-year old girl and her 6-year old brother) have thoroughly enjoyed their lessons with Petra. Petra takes a systematic and playful approach to music which keeps the children engaged and helps them retain the newly acquired skills. A far more fun way to get acquainted with music than your traditional music lesson!
