Introduction: Hi All. My name is Sean and I had a great daycare and boarding facility behind Jenni’s Ice Cream in the South End of Charlotte named Preppy Pet Charlotte. I had it for 3 years and had to eventually shut it down because of a combination of searching for a larger facility and then Covid shutting that search down. I’ve kept the biz name under which it was doing business under (Shempy's Inc.) and continue to do personal related services. My current clients are mostly former customers, referrals and meeting ppl locally near me. I concentrate on dog walking, sitting, feeding and some light behavioral service. My facility got nearly all 5 Star reviews and I am more that willing to provide dozens of referrals if needed. Some of the prices listed may vary given the details of the request(s). I also take pics / videos and FaceTime (seriously) in real time if requested!

Pet Sitting

Sean is great with my pup Maggie! I typically board her at her doggie daycare, but no more! From now on, I’ll be sending her to Sean’s house. Maggie seemed like she didn’t even want to leave when I went to pick her up. Sean sends so many pictures and I know she is well taken care of while I’m away!

Everything about having Sean watch Harley was perfect. He cared for her as if she were his own and she loved playing with his sweet dog Steve. The fenced-in yard was great and she had the full run of his house. Will definitely trust him again with our pup

My dog Halli absolutely loves Sean, and he loves her. He is great with her and always willing to take her if something comes up last minute. Definitely recommend if you need someone to watch your pups!

Sean always takes the best care of my pup Milo! Milo is a special pup because he doesn’t always get along with other dogs but Sean is so patient with him and works hard to keep Milo in an environment he is comfortable in. (Milo also loves his dog Steve, Steve is the best!) Sean is also great about sending photo updates throughout the day! He really cares about the dogs and I never worry about Milo when he is with Sean!

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

    I try and keep the pricing in line with the "industry average". Although, I do offer additional services / perks, like sending real-time pictures, videos and even Facetime (believe it or not).

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

    I usually like to go through a verbal "vetting process" with the customer. Basically expand on the details that are provided in the initially request. Like...breed, size, demeanor, walking capabilities, medication / sleeping / potty and feeding habits. Some apply more for sitting overnight. If possible, I always suggest meeting in person to see how we all interact with each other.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

    Well, I went to college for political science, but that does not apply at all for this type of work, obviously. As it relates to my current work, I owned a doggie daycare, boarding and grooming facility called Preppy Pet Charlotte. Unfortunately, when my lease ended and I wanted to find a bigger (and cheaper) facility, Covid hit and put all of that on hold. That is why I continue to do this independently of that. As a result, I picked up some light behavioral training which does come in handy.
