FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
As a professional instructor and performer I am looking for young families who are interested in their child beginning violin at the age of four to 12 years old with the parent able to bring their child to lessons, help daily with home practice, and able to bring their child to group classes and recitals. Parents of young children ages 4 to 6 are welcome to attend lessons and take notes to help with home practice. Fees are paid monthly with half hour lessons at $110 per month and 45 minute lessons at $130.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
New students may give my a call to learn more about lessons, and the types of lessons I provide. I have a handbook listing materials for the first lesson, and information about types of instruments and where to find your instrument. New students are welcome into my studio, and I encourage new students to attend a recital and see students performing. I am looking for committed students and families who can help their child find a quiet place to practice daily, and are willing to purchase proper equipment for their child. Parents are asked to bring their child to lessons, recitals, and group playing events. Your child will continue their excitement and interest with your support and seeking out ways to have them involved in school music and other group playing opportunities.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a music professional with a masters degree in Teaching MAT and undergraduate music degree from the University of Tennessee. I have taught in the public schools for 20 years, and have taught privately for over 20 years. As a professional I play the violin in the symphony and teach beginners as well as students on a university path. I have studied the Suzuki Method with the leading Suzuki experts in the country. My certifications include all levels and training from many different professionals on techniques such as vibrato, scales, shifting, and tone production. I am always seeking better ways to help my students accomplish their goals, as well as enjoy playing their instrument each day or in an orchestra or ensemble situation.
