About this pro
I believe that music is for everyone. Music is a powerful tool for self-confidence and expression. I believe in working with each student to establish goals and find joy and excitement in music. I don't believe in a "one size fits all" approach. I also think that music is for any age. I've taught students as young as 3 and as old as 63 (not that 63 is all that old!). I don't think that you're ever too young or too old to find greater depths of pleasure in music. I teach a large number of instruments (Sax, Flute, Clarinet, Guitar, Piano and Bass) and I believe that all instruments are at once unique and completely the same. Anyone can express themselves on any instrument that they choose too. Music, and creativity in general, has given me so many 'aha!' moments. In my almost decade of teaching, I have seen that same thing happen for so many of my students. There are few things in the universe as awesome as watching a new world come into being in the mind of one of my students.
Customers rated this pro highly for work quality, punctuality, and professionalism.

- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I always like to find out what a student listens to. I like to teach through the lens of music that is familiar. I also like to know about life goals and interests outside of music, as I believe that music connects to every aspect of life.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I have been playing instruments for 20+ years. I have a Bachelors in Music from the University of Mary Washington.
