Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: • I don't charge exorbitant rates to create a high-performance website for you. I have worked as a Senior Graphic Designer, agency Art Director, Copywriter, and Marketing Director (twice.) Most recently I was the Marketing Director at the Museum of Life & Science here in Durham • I have been teaching classes Effective Web Design, Creative Marketing that Sells, and Wordpress at Duke, Durham Tech and the Durham Small Business Center for over 10 years. You don't have to be a technical wizard, marketing guru or have buckets of money to have a high performance website that sells— I help you set up the framework and you learn to add your content. No coding required. • I can teach you how to create, design and manage your own website. • Or I can create your website for you using Wordpress, SquareSpace, Wix, Weebly or any other platform and teach how to maintain and manage your site. • Currently I am working on using "in-app" training software such as "WalkMe" that guides you step-by-step through anything you need to do directly inside your website. • My favorite quotes from students, clients, and employers... -"My web designer charged me $75 to change that image on my site, and you just taught me how to do it myself in 5 minutes!" - "Our marketing doesn't such anymore." (CEO where I worked as Marketing Director) - "[ As Marketing Director] You raised the paid circulation of Mangajin Magazine from 5500 to over 31,000 in 3 years. You are a marketing genius!" From Mr. Hiromichi Moteki, Japanese partner for Mangajin magaine.

FAQs

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

I have a Masters Degree in International Relations and spent five years in Japan working as a cross-cultural management consultant and trainer. When I returned to U.S. I got a job as the Marketing Director for a magazine called "Mangajin" which was designed to help American business and technical professionals better compete with the Japanese. I found I loved marketing more than cross-cultural relations, and went to the Art Institute of Atlanta and received my degree in Graphic Design. I have worked in high-level positions as a Marketing Director, agency Art Director and Senior Graphic Designer since that time. Whether it is international relations or marketing, it is really all about communication.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

My love is creative marketing magic, developing highly-targeted concepts for a particular audience and and turning those ideas into high performance marketing that produces tangible results.

  • What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

The most important component of highly effective print or online marketing is not design—it is content. For the most part you engage your audience and develop lasting relationships with, again, content. Too many businesses think their websites are online brochures, and not the central branding and positioning vehicle for their business.
