We had a really bad experience with Contract Exteriors. We needed our project done by mid July. After many conversations with Joe, he assured us that the project would take 4 to 8 weeks (although the company says they never include dates in the contract). After 6 weeks of no activity, I get a call from the "project manager", Jeff. When I asked about starting dates, he said that he "could not tell", "maybe the end of July". When I said that Joe assured us that the project was going to be finished by mid July (we signed the contract at the beginning of May), he was very rude and said that "the company will be glad to return your down payment". We cancelled the contract. The only positive thing about this company was the Eugenia was very polite and returned our down payment in a timely manner. We were extremely disappointed. I feel that Joe told us we wanted to hear just to get us to sign the contract, but never had the intention to actually deliver what they promised.Jul 30, 2018Verified

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?Pricing varies from job to job, although we routinely offer promotions and discounts throughout the year.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?The first step is a measure call where we come out, we take measurements, we start working to determine the issues and we find out the customers wants and needs. From there, we generate a proposal and schedule a second meet where we can go over everything with the home owners. After that, its getting a pre-construction meeting scheduled and a start date scheduled. When the work is done we complete a final walk through and we close out the job.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?Check references. There is always someone who believes they can fix or build anything and complete your job for you but the customer is always most critical of the work they are paying for. Take the time to meet (if possible) or, at the very least, speak to the contractor on the phone. Ask them any questions you can think of or even just an open ended question to see if they can articulate a solid answer. Always ask for references and ask those references if they would hire the contractor again.
