I purchased a new condo and had to gut the entire place down to the stud walls. Joe was referred to me from a very close friend who has used his services many times and after working with him I see why. He is easy to work with, extremely talented, personable and a professional always. I had a kitchen, living, 2 bedrooms and 2 baths to remodel. The building was built in the early 1960's and my unit had never been updated to include the velvet flocked wallpaper and 3 different shades of shag carpets. I conveyed what I wanted, and Joe drew the sketches. I had ideas on almost everything I wanted but he helped bring more life into what I liked. Joe listened, offered suggestions but did not try to push to something that totally was not me or my style. I really appreciated that. I've worked with styles before who say yes to you but do what they like and what they "think" you need. He was very good at thinking creatively and not offering a "cookie cutter" answer nor showing me furniture, designs, colors etc that you see everywhere all the time. He seeks out ways to find unique items as well. He came to my home (Washington, DC) as well as shopped with me in North Carolina. He is an artist in every way an artist can be described. He painted a picture for my condo lobby and helped redecorate it. Friends saw my new place after the transformation and were amazed and highly impressed. Joe ended up signing a contract with them and styled their new home as well. It was located in a very high-end exclusive part of Washington and he did a fantastic job. Joe has an unassuming look about him but don't let that fool you. He is an extremely talented nice person who's a "regular" Joe that does fantastic work. He will work with any budget and make you look like a million dollars and more always. I can't wait to find more projects to work with him again!

I have been and continue to be affiliated with Designer Joseph Whisnant of Joe Whisnant Designs since 2002 to the present. Joe Whisnant is a joy to work with particularly, but collaborate with specifically. We have completed numerous projects in two different homes. Joes designs evoke your vision above and beyond your dreams. Any idea that can be conceptualized, Joe can deliver. He transitioned my first home in NC into a peaceful, coastal oasis with the warmth of customized silk draperies for the living room and dining room respectively. In addition, the faux finishes of the cabinetry in the kitchen and bathrooms were noteworthy. When my husband and I purchased our second home, Joe played a significant role in the transformation of the new home and staging of the 1st home, which ultimately was the reason for the sale. In the new home, Joe was instrumental in the painting of the master bedroom, redesigned the cornices in the guest bedroom, customization of the furniture and draperies in the sitting room. When the holidays arrive, Joe transforms the mantles that are superbly decorated, like something out of Southern Living Magazine; the Christmas trees that are thematic in nature, as well as the front entrance at the street level and the doors. All of which are visually stunning. Overall, Joe Whisnant Designs has made living in my homes something wonderful, straight from the cover of the most popular decorating magazines. What a great designer!

Joe started working with us several years ago by faux painting a guest bathroom. It came out unbelievably gorgeous! Because it is a guest bath, many people have seen it and are always asking about it!! Next he faux painted a foyer, over wallpaper. I was skeptical about putting paint over wallpaper and then faux painting over that, but he tried a sample area first and once we were satisfied that it would work, did the whole foyer! We went from green and white stripes to light green background with a silvery feather type faux treatment. Another amazing look! Another project that Joe did for us was to paint our kitchen cabinets. They were the standard stock white cabinets that he painted to look like honey maple wood grain. He even suggested that we paint the inside of the cabinets a light green to pull in the color from the foyer. Amazing! Again, our friends are amazed and always comment on what a great job Joe has done! The last project was to paint an old dining room table and chairs and china cabinet. It went from being a dark wood that closed down the room to an off white that lightened and brightened up the whole space! Joe has a great eye for design, has great taste, listens to what his customers are saying they want and then suggests options of what could be done. He is here when he says he will be here, is very reasonably priced and is just an overall likable person. If you choose to work with Joe I think you will be well pleased. We certainly have been!

The first half hour is free of charge . initial retainer or consultation fee is $300.00 for a minimum of two hours billed at $150.00 an hour with each additional hours billed at $150.00 if client decides to proceed
