Introduction: "Love what you do and like it a lot" best describes photography for me. It's not just about being creative, but also having fun while working with my clients. I really do believe that photographs are visual markers helping us recall those moments that were once just-faded memories. I am passionate about photographing weddings, but also enjoy photographing families, commercial and product photography, corporate head-shots, children, nature and portrait photography. It is a pleasure to work with my clients on many levels. It is after all, about you and what you want, capturing the essence of your moment with each image. My clients include corporations, executive head-shots non-profit organizations, book authors, ad agencies and hundreds of wonderful brides, models, children and families, many in natural settings. I am professional, but easy and fun to work with, a key point with my clients as mentioned in their testimonials. I enjoy customizing and personalizing any package around how you envision the final product. If you can envision what you want, I can make that happen and with pleasure. In other words, it is all about you and as it should be. I also have a wonderful relationship with my Graphic Designer and we've been together for over five years. He is a major influence in all post editing. His work is excellent. If you want quality, excellent service and photographs that tell your story with the best possible results, then let's talk how I can work for you and deliver the results you are looking for.

I hired Dale as my photographer for 2 separate but very special events in my life, and I was extremely happy with both experiences. Dale tailored both shoots to my needs, and he made everything center around what I wanted without any packages presented or pushed my way. Instead, he personalized and customized his services to my vision and my needs. He was a fantastic listener and was very easy to work with. Artistically, he has a knack for capturing the essence of the moment, and I still get emotional looking back at my individual photos and books. He worked with me before the events, during the events, and after the events with extreme professionalism and care. I highly recommend Dale Gurvis for any special event where you are seeking a highly professional and outstanding photographer. 5 Stars all the way around!

Paid in full before the event in October. Now it is March and we are still waiting. Dale is a good photographer and we waited months to see some of our "edited" photos selected for the album. We were surprised at the color work we had expressed we were not fans of when we went over the photos initially after the wedding. We were also informed those were the only photos included in our contract. WHAT? I reluctantly wrote an additional check to get the remainder of the photos that were supposed to be un-edited proofs. Still, MONTHS later, no pictures. I understand things happen, but I will update the "professionalism" rating at a later date if Dale offers us any compensation for our inconvenience.
Dale Gurvis Photography's reply
I have had the pleasure of working with wonderful clients over the years and yes, every now and then, there are delays, but certainly never intentional. I always send by e-mail some pictures to my clients after their event and as soon as possible and in most instances, within ten days. Working with my Graphic Designer, we always try to be creative when editing and photoshopping photographs after an event. Many of my clients over the years have told me they appreciate us taking some creative liberties. In this instance, when I presented my clients with their final photographs of their choosing,135 in all, typically the norm is around 100 to 125, they expressed their dislike with what we creatively did with certain pictures, which turned out to be 10 in all. Some were black and white or layered or had lowered saturation levels. They were corrected and e-mailed back to Shawn and her daughter today, March 4th, after receiving her e-mail dated February 27th, instructing me with the photographs she wanted corrected. As to the extended delay, I profusely apologized to the mother, of course assuming responsibility and explained in several e-mail exchanges addressing her questions, what happened and why. I did not share everything, as some things were personal that also caused the delay. I don't ever want to burden any client, period. The delay on the proofs as I explained was I wanted to go that extra mile and edit them and in this instance, the outcome was not positive. I e-mailed Shawn last evening informing her that the DVD with the proofs would be sent US Mail today with a tracking number. I also answered her question as to why the day she paid for the proofs, work didn't begin that day. The delay was more than I had wanted on these proofs, but has been corrected and she will have them within a few days. As to my contract, there is no mention my client is given any proofs. I have never offered proofs as part of my agreement. I never address selling proofs unless a client asks first. I will add, my contract also has a fee for her daughter's engagement photography session, which was an option if they wanted to have one. I did however meet them for that session prior to their wedding, never asking for payment. I don't mind giving, never have. This is a service business and I have been a professional photographer for over 25 years. I will always take the high road and not make excuses. My clients are loyal and I will never purposely do anything to compromise any relationship. Everyone is entitled to a mishap in their career and I am no different. I am grateful for Shawn's input, again, have apologized and made the proper corrections.

"When I first met Dale, I realized he was the right photographer for me. He didn’t try to sell me anything, rather he asked me what I wanted and listened to what I had to say. I soon learned Dale doesn’t have wedding packages, he said it was all about me and what I wanted. Imagine that? I had met with other photographers who had so many packages and pushed me to buy this and that, but Dale was different… one of many things that made working with him great. Dale captured all my special moments on two different occasions one a wedding and the other a family session and I couldn’t be more pleased. He worked with me from the beginning and was always focused on me and what I wanted and he delivered when he said he would. I have recommended Dale Gurvis Photography to more than just a few people and will continue to recommend him. Dale is professional, easy to work with and his passion for photography was evident. His work is beautiful and speaks for itself.

Dale processed a number of files for me for a book I published recently. The work was impeccable! I was also on a time crunch and Dale's turn around was immediate.
