FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing is almost always by the hour. I've learned that clients make decisions differently. Some know what they like and others take days to make a decision.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I prefer a brief phone interview first and then I like to come to your home. Because I've worked in this field for so many years and with my background in numerous studies and cultures I'm able to quickly assess how open you are to working with me. The relationship is very important for us to enjoy the process.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Classes, continuing education seminars and web podcasts, attending markets around the US as often as twice a year, staying abreast of current trends through trade only publications, traveling all over the world to soak up architecture, following the leading international designers, constantly creating new and exciting designs that drive my cabinet makers crazy, etc. I have no hobby other than design related material. Whether I'm in Hong Kong or Montana, my mind is always embracing the local cultures. While I stay in very nice hotels (Yes, I'm spoiled) I always venture into the real culture and experience first hand the life of farmers, factory workers, etc. I purposely stay in B & B's in the countryside and eat and experience the "real world" away from the dazzling delights of a resort. I never lay on a beach or relax. I don't know how. My life is empty without the stimulus of new worlds to experience.
