Carmen and her team are some of the hardest working people I have had the honor to see in action. We chose An Affair to Remember to cater our daughter's wedding in Morganton because she is down-to-earth and seemed very service-oriented. If there is something we need at weddings is service. Carmen's team exceeded our expectations. For the sake of simplicity I asked Carmen to prepare a buffet. Everyone said the food was delicious. As the mother of the bride I had no appetite (except for champagne). All the food was devoured. I feel I did not take advantage Carmen's full abilities by not asking for passed appetizers or food stations. She arrived with her team around noon and stayed until 11pm to wash all our rented dishes and clean up. By the time she left our kitchen was spotless. Bravo, Carmen. The only thing I would add for someone who has never had a caterer: buy your own ice. It was an oversight on my part and assumed caterers brought it. Thankfully I had a willing guest happy to run out for it. Another thing: We had a cheesecake wedding cake and I was worried about cutting it. Carmen stepped in and said she would cut it and set out the coffee service at the same time. She helped make our wedding wonderful.
We recently planned a celebration for our 50th wedding anniversary in January 2016. It included an evening buffet meal for over 50 friends and family. Following an internet search on Thumbtack we chose Chef Tyler of Personal Chef to the Stars for our first private chef experience. We have a well equipped kitchen and wanted the enjoyment of watching the food being prepared in our own home versus having the meal catered. The food and service were fantastic - awesome hors d'oeuvres, delicious dinner buffet and a crowd stopping superb dessert. Chef Tyler delivered beyond our expectations - from the advanced planning to the super clean up and all our guests were impressed and delighted. We would recommend the personal chef experience with Chef Tyler to anyone.
We needed catering of lunch and dinner for at least 30 days to possibly 1 year, 7 days every week for approximately 100 people with emphasis on vegetarian, vegan, gluten free and special diets. Many caterers with great reviews were easy to dismiss once they were interviewed. Carolina catering delivered what they promised: delicious food at a reasonable price with excellent personal service and a huge selection - even for those special dietary needs. I have used caterers throughout the country to take on this monumental task and no one has delivered the quality, variety, and scrumptious food Carolina Gourmet Catering has. I cannot thank them enough. And, by the way, we are 3 weeks into our project and continue to be very happy with the results. The only problem we have had was running out of food because people have been going back for second and third helpings because the food is so good! Make sure you prepare for this if it's buffet style.
Latonya catered a ladies breakfast for me the food was great the service was outstanding and the ladies loved the food. The food was fresh and seasoned well and her set up was really nice. I will be using her again in the near future.
Jim is a superb caterer. He catered a convention for children with 40 people in attendance, which were mostly adults. It was held in North Charlotte at the Drury Inn and Suites. He kept in touch with me throughout the entire process and delivered the most delicious food my group has ever tasted.He arrived on time and the setup at the event was swift as he obviously knew what he was doing. He even included items I had not considered. His pricing is excellent and the serving size was extremely generous. I had guests inquire about the caterer due to the excellent food that they had eaten. We had chicken and everyone commented on how perfectly prepared it was.I highly recommend his services and I would not hesitate to use him again when the need arises.
Chef Dave prepared Christmas Dinner for my family of six. He prepared 2 meats, 3 sides, an additional entree served with white rice, an appetizer and a dessert. Everything was delicious! The meats were well seasoned, juicy and tender. The sides were flavorful. The dessert was a perfect to wonderful meal. There was so much food that I was able to send my brother home with leftovers, freeze enough food for dinner on New Years Day and have leftovers to eat after Christmas. Chef Dave was prompt, friendly and professional. My family and I will be hiring him again in the future.
Jessica whipped up a dinner for 10 at our place. The appetizers and dinner were fantastic. Jessica was a bundle of energy and on the go from the time she arrived until the time she left. Not only was she our chef, but server and cleaned up as well. We did 3 appetizers; shrimp cocktail, stuffed mushrooms and caprese salads. It was probably too much for 10 people but each one of them was terrific. Caesar salad proceeded our dinner of filet mignon with mashed potatoes and sautéed spinach. Your guests will love the food.
Lunch was great! everyone enjoyed the variety and condiments. Delicious Mac and Cheese and Jalapeno Cornbread! Thank you Yolanda for a successful lunch training meeting.
Top Hat Event Planning is outsatnding. Liane and her staff were amazing.They not only made sure my guest were well catered to , her staff made everthing so perfectly elegant for my 50th birthday party.. I highly recommend them to anyone looking to hire for their next event. I will be using Top Hat again for my next event. Over extended herself and staff for my event. Thank you so much Liane....

I had The Cook Nook cater a private dinner for two. The food was delicious, and the service was impeccable. Catherine prepared a steak dinner and honestly it was the best steak I’ve ever eaten and I’m a regular at Morton’s and Capital Grill. The appetizers, sides, and main dish were all delicious. It was a beautiful meal and a wonderful experience. I would highly recommend Catherine for a fantastic experience that your guests will thoroughly enjoy! Tamra R.
I am SO glad I chose to hire Joya to be the private chef at my event. She cooked 5 meals for us + snacks all vegan. Not everyone at the event was vegan but everyone found ALL the meals delicious which was amazing. She was one time and on schedule for everything, so sweet, put a lot of love into her food/work and I truly hope to work with her again in the future. If you are thinking about hiring Joya definitely do it! You will not regret it.
I used Divine Cultural Cuisine for a private dinner party for 4. The Chef showed up on time with all the equipment. He was very careful and precise in cleaning his work area before and AFTER dinner. The party started at 7 pm and he showed up around 615pm to start prep work. Our menu was amazing and I am still full while typing this review. It consisted of Savannah calamari and crab stuffed shrimp as an appetizer. The portions were huge. We literally had to tell him to take the plate from us or we wouldn't have been able to eat the entree or dessert. I have to add, he applied some "orange sauce" to the shrimp that I literally would drink a bucket of. Chef Reeves is a saucier by trade so he knows what he is doing. Next, we were served a mixed green salad with a warm raspberry hazelnut dressing which was divine. Our main course was a surf and turf menu of orange soy glazed salmon and NY strip with mixed veggies and potato cakes. I don't know where to start. The steak was cooked perfectly. Salmon was cooked so well that I am troubled that I may never be able to cook salmon in my household again. And this orange soy glaze. He wouldn't tell us the ingredients but we tried to bribe him an undisclosed amount of money which he politely refused. I personally like grits so he made a side dish of his grits. They were the best grits I have ever tasted in my life and I am born and raised in the South. Just a wonderful meal from this point that was about to blow our minds. For dessert, might I add I don't even remember when he prepared it as we were stuffing our faces, creme brulee cheesecake with a white chocolate sauce and red velvet cake shooters with fresh fruit. The entire meal was better than I ever expected. My only regret is that we didn't know Chef Reeves and Divine Cultural Cuisine when we were getting married as we surely would have had him cater for us. We will be reaching out to him. We will be using him in the future and I truly believe if you have read all of this review up to this point, you will use him too.

Total Events made our wedding everything we dreamed it would be. Trisha is thorough and has an amazing attention to detail. She thinks of everything, which made my job as the bride a breeze! She really listened to what we wanted and made our day exactly how we had envisioned it. More than that, she cared about us as a couple and made us feel so special. Would recommend Total Events to anyone for their big day!

My service stands out from any other food and drink host/chef because cooking has all I have done my whole life; making everything from scratch and homemade. I never use a recipe and everything comes from the heart as well as based on what the customer needs and desires. Eating and drinking is about being happy and tasting deliciousness; the palette needs to be properly tended too or people believe that fast food and sugar is a way of life.
