I was apprehensive about beginning singing lessons, and was mostly just testing the waters when I submitted a request via Thumbtack, but when Kevin picked up my request and contacted me, I was sure it was something I wanted to do. Kevin's passion for music was apparent from moment one, and from the first lesson I was anticipating each one that would come after. Even in the first lesson I learned techniques that improved my ability to warmup my voice and stretch and explore my vocal range. Without a doubt I'm looking forward to our future lessons.

Anyone who is teachable should sign up for my online courses. These classes are designed for people who can hold a tune but need more confidence to sing or tips to enhance ability. My sessions are not complicated but sometimes intense. If you follow my steps as outlined, you too can be singing by Sunday.

I only do one on one lessons so I can give 100% of my attention to each student. Every voice is different which in turn makes every individual's lesson unique to them.

My kids, ages 11 and 8, have been taking piano lessons from Nancy for 1 year and they love her! She makes piano lessons fun! Not only does she teach piano, but a true understanding of music theory and an appreciation of music. Nancy is instilling a passion for music, that will stay with them, throughout their lives, long after piano lessons end. She's a talented lady!

I've known Tony for many years now, and I never get tired of going to see him. No matter how much I think I know about guitar (or bass, for that matter), he never fails to have something new to teach me. Learning an instrument is an ongoing process, and you can never exactly 'master' it; the fun thing about guitar and bass and instruments in general is that you can always get better, and Tony understands that, so when you feel like there is nothing more for you to learn, he just makes the next thing more exciting. You'll always be wanting to go to your lesson, which is important when sometimes the thing you're learning can be frustrating. He pushed me to learn guitar riffs that I thought I would never be able to play. He pestered me about studying theory even when he knew I hated it. He got on my case when I didn't practice enough for Dogwood. But he did all of this because he truly only wants what's best for me and all of his students. The greatest thing about taking lessons from Cape Fear Music Center in general is that you don't just get teachers, you get friends. Those employed at the music center truly just care about music and the quality of your experience there. I could go on for ages about how much I love that place and how much it has changed my life, but I think I'll just end by saying that I cannot find a single bad thing to say about that place or the people there.

Taylor was very personable and kept the lessons fun and lighthearted. I enjoyed her techniques. They were comparable to techniques of my college professors. She is very sweet and very professional.
