Introduction: I have often heard it said, “Do what you love, and love what you do.” I absolutely love performing wedding ceremonies. As the officiant, I get to see the smiles and the tears of the happy couple. I can hear them even when they whisper. I get to share their little bubble of joy, up close, for the fifteen minutes or so that the ceremony lasts. And I love that. I still get goose bumps every time a I begin a wedding service. I am non denominational, non judgmental and I am LGBTQ friendly. I am happy to perform ceremonies for any happy couple for first weddings, second weddings, elopements, vow renewals; weddings with five guests or 300 guests. I am available for weddings any day of the week, and in any season. From last-minute elopements to grand scale weddings, and every kind of ceremony in between, I want to help you get your Wedding Knots Tied! The beautiful Outer Banks (OBX) is an enticing destination wedding location. Prices for wedding officiant services start at $350, depending on your ceremony location. Your fee includes unlimited support via phone, text, or email. Packages are available and are listed on my website's home page. For your convenience, payments are accepted through the Venmo app and through the Apple Pay.

Nancy H.

Wedding Officiant

I only dealt with the officiate to set up the date. My plans were cancelled due to denied access to the outer banks and covid-19. She was prompt to respond, answered email timely and was willing to reschedule for a later date. Which was impossible. Thank you

Non-Religious Wedding Officiant

Melody was super easy to work with! She performed our small, informal wedding with very little direction from me. She was perfect and I would recommend her to any bride!

Non-Religious Wedding Officiant

Melody was wonderful! She answered all of my questions in a timely manner and was even kind enough to offer her hand in preparing for the wedding when she arrived. I couldnt have asked for a better experience!

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

Officiant fees are based on your ceremony location on the Outer Banks. Fees can be found on the Wedding Knots Tied website. Please note that a $100 non-refundable deposit reserves your date and time. All fees include a custom ceremony, unlimited phone, text, and email support. Packages include delivery to your ceremony location. Specific flower requests, and additional flowers can be added for an additional cost. More time for the photographer can be added, and prints are available for an additional cost. For the ceremony alone, a $100 deposit holds your date and time. When booking a package, a fifty percent deposit is required. The balance of all fees is due no later than seven days prior to your event. All fees are non-refundable, as your date and time are held just for you. My accepted forms of payment are cash, Venmo, Zelle, and Apple Pay.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

Once your deposit has been received, Rev. Melody will reserve your date, and compose a ceremony. This will be emailed to you for approval and any changes you may desire.

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

Elopements, Large Weddings, Small Weddings, Same Sex Ceremonies, Vow Renewals
