Our dog, Stella, loves Lynnette and so do we! Lynnette does more than just walk Stella- she really treats her like she was her own pup. I feel so lucky that we have Lynnette. She is prompt, reliable, and great with all pets. I highly recommend Furball Friends for all of your pet care needs- from dog walking and cat sitting to even overnight stays. Thank you Lynnette for all that you do!

Teachers Pets was very quick to respond to our request for services. They talked with us about our animals and helped us chose the perfect sitter based on our animals’ personalities. Our sitter sent us great updates assuring us all was well with our home and fur babies. Our house was left in perfect condition, just how we left it. All services were provided punctually assuring our pets were not having to hold it or be by themselves for too long. Paying was also easy! The entire process was positive and easy going. We definitely would recommend Teachers Pets!

LeighAnn always does the best job pet sitting for me while I am gone. She sends pictures and updates. She always goes above and beyond and exceeds my expectations when she cares for my 3 dogs and 2 cats. I love that she travels to me so my dogs never have to leave their safe space. She does her very best to accommodate all of my pets needs and has the best pricing in the area. I have never had any worries about her being in my house. She is very trustworthy and I will continue to use her and refer her for all pet sitting needs.

We hired Emma to come over during the day & feed our cat while we were out of town. From start to finish Emma was great to deal with. She responded quickly to any questions we had & the cat didn't starve. I would use her to watch the cat again in a heartbeat.

Very knowledgeable. I have a little dog that pulls and I have a bad back. Christine brought her own leash for pulling dogs and is teaching me how to walk with that leash. She is like a dog walker and trainer all in one .

My pets love their Pawtastic Petsitter! They really kept me out of a bind when my roommate and I were both going out of town- now, I don't even bother my roommate with it anymore! My sitter came over several times a day and sent updates while I was away. Really gave me peace-of-mind to know they were well taken care off, and that allowed me to enjoy my trip. I highly recommend Pawtastic Petsitters!

About

We had given up on going on vacationing together as a family until we found Cindy. We didn't like the idea of boarding our 2 dogs, Roz and Dakota, but could not find a pet sitter to help us with our 2 Mastiff girls. We had tried another pet sitter who was unable to get Roz to go out of the house. Another dog trainer/pet sitter was hesitant about the job because of Roz's fear aggression with some strangers. Finally, we were lucky enough to find Cindy. Both dogs loved her from the start. They really listen to her and enjoy her company so much that we don't have to worry about them while away. We recently added one more rescued Mastiff to our house and Cindy again did a superb job with all 3. Cindy is a true dog lover and it shows in how she treats and interacts with your pets. We also love her positive attitude and her willingness to accomodate even last minute requests when possible. ~ Marisol Iannuzzi, DVM Youngsville

About

We are not just out there to make money....we genuinely care about what we do. Our main goal is to take care of your pets with the highest quality care possible. Their comfort is our main priority.

About

I will come and visit, feed, and clean up after your dogs or cats. I am a cat person, but I also love dogs. I will follow your instructions with respect to feeding and watering, letting outside or walking on a leash or, in the case of house-only cats, changing/cleaning the litter box. I can spend an hour or so with your pets, or longer if you are anxious. I can check them morning and night. I use a cane, so the walks would probably only be 15 minutes or so. I am loved by animals and people alike. I have a calming nature, and most cats and dogs love me.

About

I offer pet care services.

In addition to ensuring your pets happiness and safety I also look after your home by opening/closing blinds, watering plants, picking up your mail/newspaper, taking the garbage/recycling to and from the curb, etc. You are getting more than a petsitter when you hire me!

About

I am available for pet sitting and I come to your home to walk your pet in the comfort of their own yard and neighborhood. My priority is your pet. Feeding, walking, and bathing are no problem while you are away on vacation or at work. I am available to those that have pets but are not able to do all the care by themselves. I am open to exotic pets if needed. I have nothing but love and respect to show your pets. My only request is that your dog have their shots up to date and are not aggressive. I do not accept aggressive animals. Thanks for reading and considering.

I feel pets are more comfortable if they can stay at home, instead of being boarded. I come to your house and stay with your pet to try to keep them on the routine they're used to.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much should you pay for a pet sitter?

Pet sitting provides your precious pet with in-home care. A pet-sitter can make a brief visit during the day to provide snacks, playtime or affection, or stay at your house for one or more nights to tend to your pet. Prices for pet-sitting will vary based on length of the visit. Nationally, pet sitting prices range from $20 to $30, although prices run higher for your sitter to stay the night. Prices will also be affected by where you live in the country. Here are some examples of average pet-sitting prices based on length of time and region:

  • 30-minute visit: $17 in a small Texas town.
  • 30-minute visit: $25 in Southern California.
    • 45-minute visit: $28.
    • 60-minute visit: $32.
  • Overnight stay (10 hours): $50 in Texas.
  • Overnight stay (10 hours): $85 in Southern California.
    • 12 hours: $100.
    • 24 hours: $200. This is a good option for a sick, elderly or brand-new pet that needs constant supervision.

How much does it cost to hire a house sitter?

House-sitting can be a lifesaver when you’re leaving town for any length of time. Whether you work remotely, you’re taking a much-needed vacation, or you just want to road-trip for a few days, it’s wise to have a pro keep an eye on your house and pets while you’re gone. Your home is more likely to stay safe and you won’t have to wrangle the kitty into a kennel to travel with you. The national average pet-sitting price ranges between $20 and $30. Pet-sitting and house-sitting costs will vary based on where you live in the country and regional labor rates. Another factor in cost is how long you want the house-sitter to stay. Some people prefer to have the house-sitter stay the night at their house, perhaps to care for an elderly pet or simply to keep a watchful eye on the home at all times. Overnight stays will cost more, ranging anywhere from $50 to $100, depending on services provided. For day visits, house-sitting and pet-sitting prices will increase incrementally the longer the visit and the more service you want performed. For example, a quick 10-minute visit to feed and walk the pet and bring in the mail could be $12.50, a 25-minute visit could be $18, a 40-minute visit $25, and a 50-minute visit $32.
