I've been taking guitar lessons from Paul Warren at the Raleigh Music Academy for over 4 years. In that time I've been able to go from not knowing how to play to learning and playing songs that I listen to regularly. Each students lessons are tailored to what they are interested in, with the instructors guiding students and suggesting techniques or songs that can help them improve.
There are two things that really set the RMA apart:
First are the top-notch artists that they are able to host for workshops and clinics. I've seen Greg Howe, Andy Timmons, Andy Wood, Chris Poland and Guthrie Govan perform and instruct, all in an intimate setting.
Second are the monthly student shows. All students have the opportunity to play a song with other students in a live setting to family and friends. This is a great learning experience and gives validation to the time spent learning new techniques and songs.
If you are looking to learn guitar, bass, percussion, piano, banjo, mandolin, fiddle or voice, the RMA is the place to go. I'm glad I did.
