I had extremely stained carpets and Jose arrived on time and cleaned them far better than I had anticipated. Some of the old stains did not come up all the way but he did an amazing job with most of them. I was incredibly impressed with his professionalism and the job he did. I would definitely use him again. I have used other carpet cleaners in the past that were not as good and more expensive. Thanks Jose

We needed carpet cleaners to clean after we moved out of our house. The price was very reasonable, scheduling was a breeze and they did a great job!

Brain did an AMAZING job! Our carpet needed replacing over 5 years ago, its so bad! There were many stains that previous carpet cleaners did not get out. My jaw dropped when I went upstairs and saw our carpets. They look great, the best they have looked in 5 years. Thanks!

Carpet steam cleaning was performed in a quick manner but the soiled area have already returned. It looked good for a couple of days but I was not satisfied with the lack of deep cleaning. I know the carpet is old and will be replaced soon but I thought the clean appearance would have lasted longer.

I plan on leaving reviews in several locations - that's how thorough, professional, friendly and wonderful they were. We will use them again and again and frankly, when the nagging and complaining gets out of hand regarding long overdue cleaning lists for my partner - I know to call Tru shine rather than a marriage counselor. They're more cost effective! This is my first hire through Thumbtack - and the bar has been set! Deep clean for house sale and carpet cleaning all-in-one!

Quick response, friendly, and was on time. Explained what he was doing every step of the way, and let me know of any issues that arose during the carpet cleaning. Carpets look brand new and it didn't take long at all. Will definitely come back to him when I need another cleaning. Well done, Ray.

Best professional cleaning experience ever. Got a deal on the wet vac service on a move out cleaning. Despite wet vac on carpet service being an add on deal they did a thorough job and explained any spots the machine couldn't get off. During the walk through, addressed all areas that we pointed out. Scheduling was flexible too. Definitely recommend it to everyone in the area looking for cleaners.

I had my carpets cleaned 2 weeks ago and I must say, they look awesome. Leon did a thorough job(he even moved the furniture, which other carpet cleaners have NEVER done) I have a toddler so I was really impressed that the floors were dry 30 minutes after Leon left. I loved the fact that when I called Leon and told him I needed the carpets cleaned that day, he fit me in his schedule. I will definitely use Majestic Carpet Care again. Thanks Leon for a job well done!

Matthew and Angela cleaned our carpets a few months ago. I live in Salisbury, NC. They were very professional and on time. They let me know in advance what to expect, how long the job would take and how long it would take for the carpet to be dried. They spend extra time and got the pet stains out of the carpet. My carpet looked like new when the job was finished. Would use them again.

Had my carpets steamed cleaned this company. Carpets look great when they were done. Last time a big name carpet cleaner cleaned my carpets in less than a hour and carpets were still wet the next day. This company took about two hours and my carpets were dry later on the same day.

Jason is the only person we will use for carpet cleaning. He's professional, punctual, and uses no chemicals. Our carpets have never looked better after a caravan rugs cleaning. He also has excellent tips for cleaning spots in between deep cleanings.

Premier ChemDry cleaned my carpets as part of a larger project to restore my guest bedroom after a water heater catastrophe in my attic. They are highly professional and dependable and did an excellent job in their work to professionally clean my carpeting. I highly recommend their services and will utilize them again when the situation calls for a professional carpet cleaning service that is reasonably priced.

Curt Myhre of Contour Cleaning came in a cleaned very neglected carpet and very dirty carpet from to all our storms this year. He was very professional, timely and thorough. He was respectful of our belongings. Our carpets are cleaner than they have ever been. There was no up sell and he worked around my schedule. I would give Contour Cleaning and Curt Myhre the very highest recommendation and I'm now scheduled for carpet cleaning every six months. They go above and beyond and their level of customer service was excellent.

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

    Who cleans area rugs?

Like your carpets, area rugs should ideally be cleaned at least once a year to remove dust and dirt and help them last longer. In general, carpet cleaning professionals also clean area rugs. Some rug cleaners bring their cleaning equipment to your home, while others remove your area rugs and clean them at their facilities. Either way, the rug should be cleaned with the solution most appropriate to its specific fabric and construction. It should also be completely dry before you return it to the floor.

How often should carpets be steam cleaned?

Dirty carpets can be unhealthy for the people living in the home, particularly those who have allergies, so it’s important to have them cleaned regularly; simply vacuuming once or twice a week isn’t enough. Carpet cleaning should be done by a professional carpet cleaning service at least once a year to remove grime and help extend the life of your carpet. Most carpet manufacturers recommend professional steam cleaning, which penetrates deep into the carpet fibers and lifts out both dirt and the pollutants that get tracked inside. Steam cleaning also removes most of the moisture, so carpets dry quickly enough for homeowners to resume using them the same day. Between professional carpet cleanings, your carpet may need an emergency spot cleaning. Pet accidents, food or drink spills, and more can often be effectively cleaned with some water and a drop of white vinegar, although many cleaners will also make house calls for smaller spills and hard-to-clean spots like wine or grease stains.

How much does it cost to clean a rug?

Area rugs are typically found in high-traffic areas of the home, like hallways and entryways, so they collect more dirt and stains than simple vacuuming can handle. Similar to carpet cleaning, professionals can come to your home to deep-clean your area rugs. The national average cost for rug cleaning ranges from $80 to $120, but may be higher or lower depending on the rug’s size and fiber type. Rug cleaners generally charge by the square foot; for example, a standard 8-foot by 10-foot rug costs an average of $100 to clean. Natural fiber rugs, such as wool or silk, are usually more expensive to have cleaned than synthetic rugs. A carpeting cleaning company may charge on average $1.50 per square foot to clean a synthetic rug, $2 per square foot for a wool rug, and $3 per square foot for a silk rug. Some delicate rugs need to be washed by hand, which increases the price. Carpet cleaning companies often offer additional services, such as removing odors or applying moth deterrent, which can add 20 cents to 25 cents per square foot.

How much does it cost to clean a carpet?

Carpet cleaning costs vary depending on the type of cleaning, such as steam cleaning, and whether there are any stains that require special treatment. The main cost factors are the square footage of the carpet and the material it’s made from. The national average carpet cleaning price ranges from $100 to $130 for a typical suburban home, but steam cleaning prices start at an average of $120. In general, professional carpet cleaning ranges from an average of 20 cents to 50 cents per square foot, depending on where you live. Many companies have a minimum fee or room requirement — such as two rooms for an average of $40 each — and will charge more to clean carpeted stairs or a second floor. Finally, the carpet fiber type, density and pile will also affect the cost of cleaning; man-made fibers are stain-resistant and easier to clean, while wool carpeting is sensitive to water and requires more care.

How much does it cost to clean an area rug?

Whether your pet had an accident, the party got too wild, or your kids can’t control their juice boxes — we all need rug cleaning from time to time. In fact, even if you don’t have a spill or spot, it’s wise to have your area rug cleaned approximately once a year to keep the rug fibers in good health. In general, rug cleaning prices depend on the square footage of the rug, what the rug is made of, whether any repairs are needed, and whether you require the pro to travel to your location or provide pickup and drop-off services. Nationally, average area rug cleaning prices range from $80 to $120.

Wool and silk area rugs typically cost more to clean than rugs made from synthetic fibers because the more delicate materials take more care and may require specialized cleaning fluids. For example, a synthetic rug may cost $1.50 per square foot to clean; a wool, cotton, or chiffon rug could be $2 per square foot; and a silk or Navajo wool rug could cost $3 per square foot. The two most common rug cleaning methods are steam and chemical cleaning. The costs for the two methods are often the same, although a steam-cleaned rug will take longer to dry due to the moisture. If your area rug needs odor removal, moth deterrent, or hand washing, there will be additional charges.
