I ordered a custom bracelet from HTY Jewelry two years ago as a treat for my birthday . The design contains my favorite flower Sakura and pink zircon with the numbers that have personal meanings to me . The process was very smooth and the finished bracelet is just so beautiful . I've been wearing this bracelet every single day , and it still looks like brand new . Thanks a million ! Looking forward to working with you again !Nov 30, 2017
Hsiang Ting is very well trained and knowledge about many aspects of designing and repairing jewelry. I have several of her enamel and metal pieces that I wear often. When I special gifts she was meticulous, making certain that the color and design were as desired. Most recently Ting helped me adress a problem I had when three of my rings were cut off my finger in the ER when I broke my arm; my engagement, wedding and anniversary bands. She redesigned them in a more contemporary design. Seeing sketches and CAD designs throughout the process was helpful. Everything was done on a reasonable timetable and it was hand delivered!May 25, 2017

I worked with Hsiang-Ting on the design for my wedding ring, and it was a wonderful experience! She had great ideas and vision, helping to guide me to a design that was exactly what I wanted. The result was a beautiful art nouveau floral design with lily of the valley motif utilizing diamonds and my birthstone. She was open to redesigns and came to me with several options from which to choose. I will definitely be getting her help in reimagining some of my older jewelry so that I can enjoy it more!!Dec 18, 2016
My boyfriend and I met Hsiang-Ting Yen at a local arts festival in Durham and I was immediately drawn to her station because of her beautifully crafted jewelry. I was specifically interested in a bracelet for the rich color and geometric components. The overall look of the piece was very architectural. I did not expect this piece to be gifted to me for our one year dating anniversary but when it was I was thrilled! The bracelet was slightly too long for my wrist. What I was truly appreciative of was HTY arranging to FT me to discuss next steps to amending the bracelet to fit. She was thoughtful and responsive in the exercise and we met for coffee to talk about the options. She was very helpful and the finished product is beautiful and special. In this meeting she showed me the lovely custom work in her portfolio. She is truly committed to creating exquisite, high quality design in jewelry.Oct 30, 2017
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? There are several factors that may affect the price of a custom piece of jewelry. However, custom jewelry can cost less than you might expect depending on the materials and design. Of course, it is more costly than mass produced. I believe that custom jewelry is worth the time, money, and effort in order to get a quality piece, made just the way you want it. The time invested in design, labor, and production are what makes custom jewelry more expensive than ready-made. Normally I ask that clients give me an estimated budget so that I can suggest appropriate materials and designs. This ensures that we avoid any unexpected costs.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?Want the jewelry to be built just for you? Can't find what you like from a shop? I provide custom jewelry design service to all my clients. From engagement rings, wedding bands, anniversary gifts, special occasions, or just a treat for yourself, I’m here for you! Here is the processes: Step 1. Consultation: Start with setting up an appointment with me, it can be email, Skype, or even in person. I listen to you and figure out how you would like to have the jewelry made the exact way you picture. Together, we will go through the concept of the design, choice of materials, sizes, and the budget that you feel comfortable with. Step 2. Design: Once we narrow down what you looking for, the design process begins. It starts with hand sketches, and depending on the type of project, I may also use a CAD drawing (Computer Aided Design) to enhance the visual communication. At this stage, you are welcome to add any alternations or changes to the design; I will not continue the project till I receive the client's final approval. This step might take from 3 business days up to 2 weeks. I want you to be happy and confident about the final design before we move on the next step. Step 3. CAD/ Hand Carved Wax / Hand Fabrication: Based on the final design, I will determine the best fabrication method for your design. Often, with a simple design, I can hand fabricate the entire piece in my studio. If the design is complex, I will have make a wax model of the design and have it cast in the material of your choice before I perform the final fabrication. This step might take from 5 business days up to 2 weeks. Step 4. Final Product: After casting/ hand fabricating, I will polish the jewelry, set the stones, and give it a final touch before we hand it to you. This step might take from 5 business days up to 2 weeks. This is always my favorite part; I love to see the magic moment that your eyes brighten up when you see the jewelry you've been dreaming of comes to life. So What's Your Story?
