Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: Yes, I'm a professional but I'm also a person and that's exactly what you get, me. I love getting to know my clients, specifically my brides. I love becoming friends with my couples, it makes the experience so much more enjoyable, real and fun for everyone! It's also how I obtain ah-mazing images! If you're happy and relaxed around me, that will show in your images. Not to mention, your photographer will be with you for 8+ hours on one of the biggest days of your life, you need to get to know your photographer and make sure it's a great fit prior to booking. I love the connection, the love, the emotion that I get to witness first hand. It's so, so incredible. When I first started this business, I had NO idea how much love and joy would fill my heart. I meet my couples usually prior to their engagement sessions, sometimes even before they are even engaged (Yay!) and I get to see and grow with them. It's truly an amazing experience to see two people go from a couple, to engaged, to married, to expecting, to a family and throughout all the different milestones, I'm there to receive the emails, phone calls and texts messages full of pictures, stories and great news from my ah-mazing clients, time and time again. I really do feel like I'm part of the family. I get teary just thinking about it. What I do is so important to me. It's a gift and I'm honored to have it. I love my "job".

Brandi was terrific: quick responses, punctuality, professionalism, willingness to work toward my vision. Not a single negative thing to say about her. She was there when I needed her and like a shadow on the day-of. She is very talented, and has very good technique. There are too many lousy photographers who rely heavily on photoshop these days - Brandi is the real deal. I highly recommend that you create a clear idea of what you want and then clearly tell your photographer - because I did this, Brandi was able to get really creative with my photos and take them to the next level. Check out my husband and my photos on her site and see for yourself (Jacque & Sergey).

I have been fortunate to have Brandi photograph my son's birth at the birthing center in Chapel Hill. She was very sweet during our email communication. She responded to me right back. She came to see the place of birth in advance and planned for the lighting. From the very beginning Brandi was devoted to the project. She was ready to come immediately day or night for my labor. I was due June 27th, but my labor started June 16. I knew she had a wedding booked for that date. I was extremely worried she would not be able to make it. I was wrong. My labor was taking too long. Brandy came right after the wedding and stayed overnight until 2:30 pm next day. I am so extremely thankful for her commitment. I now look at the pictures she made and they are the most precious memories I now have. She captured images of me and my husband laboring together in the tub and on the bed. There are images of the nurses checking on me and of course images of the birth and moments after birth. I was not sure whether I wanted photos showing all the parts of my body in the beginning. So she took charge and captured my labor in all its beauty. I am so glad she did, because It gave me entire new perspective. I looked at it as an observer. There would not be any other way I would want those photos to be captured. They preserve a moment when my son enters the world. Incredible. I am happy with a final result. Thank you, Brandi.

Brandi was the photographer for our destination wedding in September. I can't remember how we found her website, but I'm so glad we did! From the very beginning, she has been professional, warm and friendly. She's very responsive and always willing to help however she can. She was the same in person. In the end I was extremely happy with our decision to have her photograph our special day. We absolutely LOVE the photographs! They exceeded our best expectations. Brandi has a very good eye and her charm and passion for what she does can be seen through the quality of her work. We plan to use our pictures to make scrapbooks and give gifts. I'm sure everyone will be thrilled with the beauty and quality of the images.

FAQs

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

My typical process would be exchanging email and/or phone communication, going over the logistics and pricing information. If everyone is on board, I then schedule a meeting, generally at a local coffee shop just to meet, get a sense of each other and I bring a long some printed images. I ask questions to get to know you guys and allow you to ask me questions, I get to know more about your wedding day plans. If everyone is happy and ready to work together, I send over a copy of my contract for viewing and signing and I send an invoice for the retainer! Sometime in the next few weeks or months, depending on each client and how soon they are ready, we schedule another meeting to go over the timeline and talk about picture ideas and more wedding plans!

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Hi! So, of course you're going to want to make sure their images are what you're envisioning for yourself. I suggest asking to see an entire wedding gallery, not just the 20 or so great images they have on their website. Anyone can have a great 20 images but by seeing full galleries that really shows you what you can expect. Secondly, make sure you meet with your photographer-to-be, I tell folks this all the time, you are going to be with your photographer(s) 8+ hours on one of the biggest days of your life. It is very important that your personalities mesh well. You don't want to end up with a photographer that takes beautiful images but is absolutely cold or doesn't have the greatest attitude. I personally believe that having a great relationship with your photographer is a WONDERFUL thing! You are relaxed, free to be yourself and live in your moments on your wedding day, rather than feeling akward in front of the camera. I like to have fun, I like to be goofy and make folks laugh, okay, so yes I'm a dork but it works! :)
