Derrick was one of our photographers at our church as well as the chosen photographer at many non-church events I've had the pleasure of attending. Let me tell you, his work is superb! He always is able to capture such sporadic and candid moments of surprise, hilarious moments of comic relief, and the overall essence of breath-taking beauty in his subjects and events. His photos and slide show productions are emotionally captivating and heart-warming. He is phenomenal at sharing detailed depictions of every event through his photography and he is the epitome of professionalism at all times. The level of complexity of his work seems eased to the naked eye when he's behind the camera. It is very evident that photography is his passion and his gift!

Derrick Yellock is an incredible photographer! He traveled and shot my engagement photos here in Washington, DC at the Washington Harbour. The photos were breathtaking! He also shot my wedding and captured one of the most special moments of my life! My husband and I were ecstatic when we received the finished product of our wedding!! He and his staff were amazing and professional every step of the way. Derrick also prepared a "MOVIE" DVD of our engagement, wedding and honeymoon photos! This is still a DVD that people WANT TO SEE when they come over! It captures every little detail of those three events. I also own an Event Company and I use Yellock Images for my clients. Derrick's work speaks for itself, however, one word to describe his work - MAGNIFICENT! I highly recommend Derrick and Yellock Images for your next special event!

I got an appointment on very short notice. I needed a headshot and was expecting to take 3 or 4 photos. 100 plus shots later I had a great photo to use for my professional correspondence. Derrick Yellock does an AMAZING job! His pictures are not only professional and look wonderful but they truly capture the personality of his subject. What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I constantly attend photography workshops. I am also part of a fee based online learning mentorship program where the photographer has been named as one of the top wedding photographers in the world. I am member of Professional Photographers of America (PPA). This is a highly recognized organization with over 27,000 pro photographers. I often travel to the Atlanta, GA area to be mentored by one of the top celebrity photoghphers. I firmly believe the quote "Chance Favors the Well Prepared ". You should master your craft, so that when that Opportunity comes you are ready without hesitation!
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have loved different type of art forms all my life. I consider photography a form of art using posing, lighting and composition techniques to creates some of the most beautiful photographs in the world.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I do more wedding, portrait and fashion photography.
