As a seasoned background actress I know that I am a necessary person on set, but also that my place on the totem pole is at the bottom. Our basic rules are stay out of the way of the crew and main actors and do exactly as we're told. This production team doesn't play by those rules. My work with them was a very different experience from any other set that I've been on. I worked for a half day as an extra in the film, The Agent. As I entered the restaurant where they were shooting the scene I had no idea I was about to step onto a magic carpet ride. My first jaw dropping moment was when I was greeted by name!!!! (No one knows your name when you walk onto a set as an extra - no one). Everyone, including, Rob, the director, treated each other as same level peers, and that included me. They were very relaxed and easy to work with, resilient and fun. Since then I've been invited to every premiere event in the area that The Agent has been a part of and have been caught up in their awesome world. I freely admit that I've become a Rob Underhill Productions groupie who avidly follows where all of their films are going and watch and applaud as they win award after award after award, while remaining unchanged in their team attitude.

Rob and I worked together on a thirteen episode series called 'The Carrington Event', based on a short film that he had already shot. Despite neither of us having done this sort of thing before, we worked together to expand the story lines and craft new material over half a year. In particular, Rob was incredibly helpful in formulating new directions to take old ideas to keep the later episodes fresh. He was also practical in his considerations of what could and could not be represented readily on film. It was unfortunate that the series never got picked up, but the window for it to be funded, filmed, and released proved to be too slender. Next time I would like for us to start and finish earlier to bring the project to market before the competition grows too thick.

I have worked extensively with Rob Underhill for 8 years as a film actor. Rob has been a director, producer and writer for several film projects I've been in, and I have been greatly impressed with his level of professionalism and ingenuous creativity. He has an excellent eye for detail. He has a very unique (often hilariously or magnetically quirky), effective way of bringing out and showcasing the human condition in his writing and directing. Rob produces excellent, award-winning commercial and independent products that have set him ahead of most filmmakers I have worked with. His professionalism and personality work well with all types of individuals involved in his productions, and it actually is key in bringing out the best in them for these projects. He does not waver from getting his work perfected and completed, and he has built a solid network of film-making professionals with which to continue building his large portfolio of impressive work. Rob's commercial and independent work continues to impress his clients and colleagues, and his portfolio of award-winning work absolutely speaks for itself.
