Introduction: I was traditionally trained in black and white photography as well as alternative processing techniques. I have a deep understanding of how cameras actually work. I believe that having a strong technical background help make for better composition and more technically sound photographs. I like getting to know the subject so that the subject's personality can be captured in its most natural essence. I also like flexibility and freedom. I want everything to be perfect which can make it challenging, yet so rewarding.

Kat arrived at my home for our photo shoot promptly and then quickly surveyed the rooms and outside areas to be photographed. She made helpful suggestions for increasing visual appeal with lighting and moving a few objects. Her photos of our house , yard, and gardens were spectacular. They made excellent use of lighting and wide angle to best represent our home for sale. She also made a cool slideshow with transitions . Our home sold quickly after uploading the new pix!!! Job well done!!

Kat Hinrichsen is the best! We needed photographs of our house which we were offering for sale. She arrived on time the same day and took a set of remarkable shots. They covered the house inside and out perfectly. She was able to use the fading sun to her advantage with photos out of our over-sized windows, which we were featuring, that brought the outside inside. The compositions of all the photographs were exceptional. Even if you aren't selling a house, if you need a photographer, call Kat. She'll be right over.

Kat Hinrichsen-Smith is one of the best photographers in this area. She offers a unique vision through the angles of her photography and decisions on close-ups versus distance shots. My exposure to her work has mainly involved assignments for capturing nature/outdoor scenes and canine family members. However, I have seen photos from her portfolio which demonstrate a wider array of skills such as special events and stills. Pending her availability (sometimes her slots are booked due to popular demand for her services), I most certainly would always hire her first for any of my photography needs.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Pricing is complicated. I can do a cheap method my saving and editing and transferring photos onto Cd' and USb's and will do edits as well. If one wants film photographs, the price will increase due to its unique traits and custom work involved. I am not one for click on my site and order prints. I think it's too expensive and makes any buyer uneasy.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I continually keep up on the latest techniques, technology and trends so that i can continue to learn.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I had a natural understanding for composition and photography. I have always enjoyed learning technical aspects of it and to this date and still highly fond of medium and large format images. I took many art classes in University and my friends all told me that I should simply should stick to photography because that is one medium I do best.
