michele russell in the last week We contracted Ryan Niles to construct an addition to our home , contract to be complete in 2months, constantly a delay in construction, price changed several times, hired workers that stole a substantial amount of cash from our home , drywall work was horrible and we had to pay to have the whole thing redone, decided we would be better off having someone else complete the job, this was a process of 5months, horrible experience would never recommend, and as of today Ryan Niles has yet to pay the Electric Compnay that he subcontracted $4000+ Gave 1 star only because the site required it so I could post this review

Hired on Thumbtack

I gave Mr. NIles one star because he was nice. Other than that, there was nothing about his service which might convince me to ever hire him again. His mission was to move an old exterior door to a different doorwa in my kitchen. He measured, etc. Unfortunately he butchered the door and attemped to cover his mistakes with spackling compound and other pieces of wood. He took the better part of the day to complete a job that would've been a 2-3 hour job for an experienced woodworker. He charged me $350.00 which was more than the cost for an entire new door with frame. In the end, I asked him to not bother painting when he explained the ADDITIONAL $30.00 it would have cost me for the paint. It was well into the evening when l I had to leave for an appt. I was extremely disappointed with the finished product and will never ask Mr. Niles to do work on my house ever again. As far as I'm concerned he's not experienced enough to parlay himself as an expert. Further, if this was a job for which he knowingly had little experience, he should have stated so.

Ryan Niles installed a ceiling fan for me today. The price was fair and he was on time, neat with his work and explained all of what he did. It was my first experience with Thumbtack and Niles, and I would definitely recommend his services.
