FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Pricing is mainly by the hour but I do work by a set contracted price as well. It really depends on the scope of the job. It is important to spell things out on paper so that the client has a full understanding of what is expected to complete the job and the costs involved. I always want to communicate very clearly so that there are no surprises. Everyone is happy that way and my clients are very grateful for being well informed.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Yes, I love attending seminars and online design programs. I also read a lot of design and trade magazines to keep up on my field.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have loved the fields of fashion & interior design but was told that it was too competitive. After graduating from a college in New York with a degree in psychology and business I went into a career in human resources in corporate America. My last job as a VP in Human Resources left me still feeling like I wanted more. So after leaving the corporate world to raise a family, I decided to go back to college to study interior design once my children were old enough. I graduated in the top 10% of my class with a 3.9 GPA and headed into my true calling. I have enjoyed over 19 years of design and have enjoyed every minute of it. I have met so many wonderful people and have worked with very talented builders, architects and tradesmen. It has been a very rewarding experience for me.
